Looks like Trump may get an ally

China, Europe and why Beijing took a swing at Iran over the Strait of Hormuz

This is merely a diplomatic statement to preserve commercial relations with GCC states. China knows the longer the US remains bogged down in the Middle East and Europe, the less it will bother the Chinese.

I'm not doing any flight tracking at the moment. Have absolutely zero doubt there is plenty of activity at the moment over Iran.

Considering the local time here, it should be right around 0645 in Iran. The sun is up.

If they had already plugged one of the crew, and the other is still unaccounted for after 12+ hours, it usually means it's not good.

Standard Operating Procedure for CSAR is for the crew to try to contact Rescue Command through shortwave RRS (Rescue Radio Set, PRC-90 when I was in), and then they are going to either chart a course or use a predetermined pick up, which you will talk about when they are planning your mission.

When the pilot and WSO eject, they will mark the chute location and try to task a loitering asset to act as a two-way communication relay (IIRC they used a KC-135 tanker for it) until the Airborne command plane is sent up (Usually a HC-130 Combat King) along with a pair of Jolly Green Pavehawk on station, then the pilots will need to move to the pick up point to have the Jolly Green and the PJ pick them up.

The fact that they had already pulled one of the crew out means they had already gone in and evacuated him/her from the pickup point, wherever it was. But the other crew wasn't there. Which usually means the crew either needs to conceal themselves or was injured, that's why they both can't make it to the pick up point.

Trying to run a marathon without with one's pants around the ankles is bound to cause a headlong stumble or three before one gets going after pulling them up.
Yeah you make an eror like that you definitely are not winning gold. If this doesn’t conclude with Iranian govt replaced and if Iran is able to show it can close Hormuz and control whenever needed - that is a win.

BREAKING: After today’s disaster in Iran, Trump’s national security team is gathered at the White House right now -ABC

Pete Hegseth, the U.S. defense secretary, asked the American people to pray “every day, on bended knee” for a military victory in the Middle East “in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Pope Leo XIV, in a homily during a Mass on Thursday before Easter, said that the Christian mission has often been “distorted by a desire for domination, entirely foreign to the way of Jesus Christ.”

The casual dismissal that "that's where the line is" is dismissal of how an air campaign actually functions which is also why on the subject of the HEU extraction a French minister just said the current admin is snorting cocaine.

You do not just move heavy support aircraft a few hundred miles back and continue the war as if nothing happened. Space translates directly into time. Every extra mile an AWACS or a tanker has to fly from a newly designated safe runway means less loiter time over the battlespace, fewer refueling tracks, degraded radar coverage, and a drastic drop in sortie generation for the strike packages.

This was never some isolated tactical error or a parking mistake. It was an operational inevitability. The commanders put those assets at Prince Sultan because the mission physics demanded they be there to generate any meaningful support.

They accepted the risk because they had to.

What we are watching is the total collapse of the sterile, frictionless war we were promised. We were sold this intervention by the exact same apparatus that manufactured the WMD consensus two decades ago. Washington planners, relying on deeply compromised intelligence from Israeli sources and defense industry think tanks, constructed a fantasy where American forces could manage regional hegemony from untouchable sanctuaries. They guaranteed a clean war of controlled escalation.

Now the threat envelope has expanded, the sanctuaries are bleeding, and the entire architecture of that lie is exposed. The people who architected this conflict to secure foreign and corporate interests are not the ones sitting on a targeted runway. American flight crews are the ones paying the physical price for a fundamentally fraudulent strategic premise. You either leave them exposed, or you retreat further out and watch the air support hollow itself out entirely. The Pentagon or yourself can draw all the imaginary lines it wants, but physics and the enemy dictate the reality.
But here is the thing, US was prepared well in advance of invading Iraq by Land. But Iraq was easy peasy from an invasion point of view......pretty flat lands and routes via Kuwait and Saudi. Iran is a whole different beast topgraphically.

Which is probably why the Chief of Army was resisting because in the end he would be the one putting his men on the ground and since war from air is clearly not won, US is stuck in this hole they dug themselves.

Clearly Iran's ability to inflict serious damage at will on GCC hasn't stopped one bit. Iraq never had that capability no matter how much Scud threat the US and western propaganda propped that up.

US and Israel thought that air campaign will actually cause Iranians to rise up and throw out the regime just like Libya, Syria, Iraq etc. But Iranians are Persians and historically they have been a very very different breed compared to the Arabs.

Not only did the US f*** this up planning wise, they seemed to not have learnt Persian history either. They think solution to every problem is "AIR SUPERIORITY"......."GBU" ......"TOMAHAWK"......YeeHaw Bla bla bla

One month on and US still doesn't know what to do.......what a shame. Trump just added another defeat to the American Empire tally of consecutive failures around the world starting with Korean war....
