Most likely scenario is that the Shahed drone was engaged and exploded but the Apache is too close and debris got sucked into the engine that bring down the chopper.
The range for the Shahed drone is too long for active guidance, and the drone itself is too cheap for a seeker (You can't make a seeker for less than $20000)

I think that is what happened too, it was an accident due to the clumsyness of the Apache pilots in attempting to engage the drone.

Who knows? I am merely speculating based in part of the size of some of the hulls, narrowness of the waters, location of the shipping channels, not to mention radar sites.
If that many vessels made it out undetected, then Iran really did drop the ball.
Until proven otherwise, I stand by the theory a backroom deal was made.
