US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Please keep in mind some members, and even some in the management, are not quite as accepting of any views contrary to what are enforced in the other thread.

This thread is a small haven amongst all that, so thank you!
As I said to someone, perhaps it was @j_hungary , because I am an active participate in some of the threads, I'll allow considerable leeway. That leeway does have its limits. As some have discovered.

I've also mentioned I'm not the only mod here. The full mods and admins have been more than willing to help keep things under control during the hours I am normally sleeping.

Just because I may not agree with some of the opinions should have no bearing on a person's ability to post so long as it is on topic or can be demonstrated to be related.

as far as I know, there is no conventional weapon that can destroy that facility. but time will tell, I guess.

Well, the US wants Iran to stop attacking ships in the Strait of Hormoz and give up control of it, and their attacks over several months have failed to achieve that.
Yes, but at the end of the day, it is Iran's territory that is getting hit.
If tomorrow our infrastructure is destroyed, stopping oil tankers and ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz will not rebuild our infrastructure.

Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., plans to introduce another war powers resolution to force Republicans to vote again to end the military conflict with Iran after hostilities between the United States and Iran intensified over the last week.

“You’re … seeing the problems with embarking on a war of choice, a war that the president got this country involved in, not because we were attacked or because there was an imminent threat of attack, but because he chose to do so,” Schiff said in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

The California Democrat argued that the conflict is “unconstitutional and unlawful” because Trump never came to Congress to ask for authorization of the conflict.

Wasn't this site hit once already?

If so, perhaps follow-up hits will impact further damage?
No, those were different sites. Natanz and Fordow.

This one is about 200 meters under the Pick Axe Mountain. Twice deeper than Fordow, and about 5-10 times deeper than Natanz.

And considering the limited impact of GBU-57s on Fordow, I think it's safe to assume that this one is even less vulnerable.

Schiff is just mad because he wasn't privy to the intel some of his fellow Senators saw so he could leak it to the press.

What will be achieved by this attack on Pickaxe Mountain ? The US doesn't have any conventional device that could penetrate this facility buried deep underground. Is Trump toying with a tactical nuke ?

Maybe we'll know Thursday night.

Depending on the time I leave for my trip, I should be somewhere near OKC about the time of the speech.

Orangeman is known for exaggerating or better known as talking out of his a$$.

President Donald Trump formally notified members of Congress that the United States has resumed military action in Iran, reigniting a debate on whether his actions are legal because he has not yet sought congressional approval.

Trump sent a letter to members of Congress on July 10 informing them that “military action commenced” in the area, a White House official confirmed to the Deseret News. That notification falls in line with the War Powers Act that mandates the president inform lawmakers within 48 hours of launching a military attack.

But it raises questions about whether Trump can continue taking action in the area without Congress first weighing in.

I think both sides are now openly trolling each other, rather than being serious, at least in the media.

That sadly trivializes the war, and its huge associated costs of all kinds.

Meanwhile, is back channel dialogue via Pakistan still taking place or has that been shut down in its entirety?
