Army adds $54B to Lockheed PAC-3 agreement, totaling $59B​

WASHINGTON — The Army has awarded Lockheed Martin an undefined contract action (UCA) modification worth $53.86 billion for PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement interceptors, bringing the total value of the seven-year contract to $58.62 billion, the company and the Army announced today.

The contract comes just months after Lockheed was awarded a nearly $5 billion UCA for the interceptors in April.

Lockheed Martin established a deal with the DoD to increase production capacity for the PAC-3 interceptors in January, resulting in the initial $4.7 billion UCA in April. The company inked another deal with the Pentagon to ramp up production for the Precision Strike Missile(PrSM) in March, and late last month, the company signed another massive UCA for nearly $35 billion to increase production of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors over a seven-year period.

The additional funding from today’s UCA allows the company to “supercharge” PAC-3 MSE production and triple capacity by the end of 2030, Lockheed Martin’s press release read.

As trips like this always entail, had the opportunity to speak with friends who work for the companies that produce the above referenced munitions.

So all the reports saying Iran has rebuilt a lot of their military capacity that America has spent 100 billion dollars so far destroy is wrong and you do know what I read it’s going to be 7 years to rebuild the stock of interceptors America Arab and European nations have used to defend against Iranian missiles yes America may not run out of advanced weapons but I guarantee they will start using them far more sparingly than they have nothing is infinite especially high end weapons that can’t be replaced overnight

Iran is looking for a face saver deal to open the strait since they're aren't really able to completely enforce the blockade unlike US blockade where not a single litre of oil has left Iran

Strategically Iran is ahead of the game, but militarily the US military power is virtually untouched.

In an all-out battle between the US and China before it goes nuclear would be an air and sea battle.

Drones and missiles will determine future war between china and US? China probably can overwhelm any country with their drones , missiles coming close to its region or Taiwan. It is beyond me why Taiwan is a problem of USA. Unfortunately American history is littered with bad strategic decisions why the USA went to Vietnam to start a war.
