US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

I think the problem is how suicidal is the Israeli leadership. The causality tree starts from the mad man in Israel i.e. Netanyahu, not Iran. If Israel does attack Iranian nuclear installations, then all bet's are off.

Yeah, but remember, Israel is the nuclear power here. People around Netenyahu maybe more sane then him and want Israel to survive, can the same be said about Iranians/ I genuinely do not know

I think the sane ones have been the Iranians so far, I think the Iranians have been "too sane" which is why I think that they have lost their deterrence value. I think the Iranians should have been more crazy during the last two round of hostilities, and had they, we would not be looking at a 3rd round now.

Yeah, but what if they simply dont have the capability? What if everything they did was the best they could do? Obviously they are always talking up their capabilities and they badly hit US Forces in GCC bases, but Israel military seems almost unscratched (unless they are hiding massive losses)

Agree - we don't know the full range of their capabilities and if they have anything left in the locker. The performance of Iran against Israel was quite poor overall. I don't understand the logic of wasting missiles hitting civilian buildings in Tel Aviv for example when larger and easier industrial and military manufacturing sites exists for example.

A new round is a dead certainty now and Iran will need to both demonstrate and perform in a manner to impose a real cost on Israel, and that also forces the USA to back off, ideally for good. If it can't, then they should really give up and stop wasting everyone's time.

The rhetoric and posturing lately has been quite loud, but how much of that translates into actual capability is unknown and if the results will be any different than the last time.

Also seems like 3 PAF VIP flights up over Pak right now. My guess is Pak will have a good idea if decision to attack has been made.

This is it, they have been talking about new wonder weapons, but most were intercepted. Do they have true hypersonic capability. Also.another weakness is lack of aircraft, ships and subs to launch attacks. Life would be much much harder for Israeli interceptors if they did not know what direction the attack will come from, but now it is a predictable path from East, over Iraq then over Syria or Jordan. That gives the Israelis both the direction of attack and time to respond.

Imagine if it was 8 hypersonic sub launched missiles launched 10 miles off the Israeli coast suddenly coming in from the West instead of East? That would be devastating

"IF" these birds enter Iraqi Airspace and turn their TX off... We know what's coming!

Yeah, its not as if those birds will be refuelling any recce flights as drones and sats have that covered. Small chance they could just be exercising with Jordanian F-16s to give them some flight refuelling experiance as it looks like only a small number of refuellers?

These are the ones they "want" us to see. We must always remember that ADSB censors what it shows us, same with FR24 and AirNav. Also Majority of military flights don't like to share their location on trackers when they are running tactical.

Yeah, very good point. My gut feeling is the very recent talk coming out of Tehran and DC maybe pointing to a deal. This build up and chat by bother sides maybe a way of saving face to domestic audiences if another deal is signed, but then I have always been a glass half full kind of guy....
