US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Hegseth Fires a Top General

The U.S. military may be planning a return to war, but the director of planning is out.

Earlier this week, the Pentagon’s chief planner, Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, was ousted from the Joint Staff. No explanation was given. This comes at an inopportune moment, given that President Trump may be planning to relaunch the war on Iran. Sylvia, the former commander of the 101st Airborne Division, becomes the latest in a long line of senior officers who have been shown the door since Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth arrived at the Pentagon almost two years ago.

South Korea says considering deployment options to Strait of Hormuz, including aircraft. No decision on combat deployment.

their tanker got hit in hormuz so it won't be a surprise.
IRGC is unnecessarily provoking many countries to go against them.....even friendly nations are getting pissed perhaps. They're chewing off more than they can bite now.

Some people can't help but scaremonger and shit post, this is one such example:

This person knowns full well that that EAM was from a Boeing E-4B "Nightwatch" aircraft assigned to the US annual Nuclear Readiness exercise "Global Thunder" which concludes tomorrow, but this person can't help but farm likes and impressions.

TLDR; No the US is not about to launch nukes.
Counting on people not knowing any better.

Not able to see the full article. Will read Army Times later today.

A lot of US military flights particularly tankers headed east - are now no longer using the Mode-S hex of AE05A5 - instead using a code not assigned to the United States.

Context:
This is an attempt to mask movement of aircraft from prying eyes.

Agreed, Moving things they don't want the public to see.

Watch Twitter and the other usual sites. Spotters will be reporting aircraft types. Perhaps not the aircraft tail number and squadron though that's not hard to guess since a lot of that is already public.

Officials stated that Sylvia was fired after failing three polygraph examinations. The tests were regarding the leaking of information to journalists about the Ukraine, and Iran wars. He allegedly met, and shared confidential information to journalists off base.[15]"

A poly test means very little in the grand scheme of things, does he have legal recourse in the USA? If the only evidence is a polytest, does that hold up? ( He could have failed for any reason i guess).

For all the talk about how the Iran conflict has hit the US economy, the US just grew 3.4% in Q3. Huge growth

Yup, and as of the end of September, the inflation rate grew to 3.7%.

The growth is mostly tied to AI build-out. Without that, you're looking at a modest 2-2.5% at best.

Anyway, we're stacking Wins!

@Davey Crockett posted the Tyler Durden article in its entirety in the US Economy thread. Durden, unlike Raptor, was at least a little more honest in writing that the growth was fueled by the spending on AI. He of course did NOT touch on what growth would have been had AI been factored out.

This is why I say over and over again ad nauseum that you have to look under the hood to get the full story. Too many folks, including the usual suspects here, post only that which supports their argument. That is disingenuous any way you look at it.

Some people are simply desperate to stack a W. Even if it's somewhat misleading.

well if this war restarts (i hope it doesn't) the iranians will try to level all the gulf energy infrastructure and that will be costly civilian lives in the gulf arab kinglets.

Question: Which bases other than israels do you see being actually even used again?

Even if nothing other than israeli bases used, iran will still attack the arab countries. Hope this time they don't sit and just take it.

i still think they(iran) don't have the balls to attack israel (in terms of actually causing massive damage there like to energy/water infra) or even USN assets......hitting useless places in gulf won't stop the war anyways.

An that’s a problem? SI will revolutionize the world, and the US will monopolize the technology due to its massive advantage in compute and chip design. We’re 3 years in to the SI era, and Navier Stokes, Exponential Time Hypothesis, quasi Riemann, and Yang Mills existence have already been solved by American AI.

Don’t be surprised to see 3-4% growth in the years ahead. 2-2.5% growth is also not modest for a $32T economy. The US has nearly caught China in terms of real dollars added to the economy , and that’s with 3X Chinas PPP per capita.

In peace time, that can be achieved......but if the world has active WARS going on with energy crisis, you can forget any growth other than for the weapon manufacturers companies
The war is not going t improve the life quality of the american people, it will have very bad/negative effects overall

Pentagon says Iran war has cost US taxpayers $47bn: What that means

>> So how much is that cost, per US Tax payer ?!? Do add the value of $160 billion total on increased fuel costs for US consumers alone aswell.

So far, then close to $200billion "overall" combined for the USA alone for this war of choice ?
