US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

World Bank:

📌The World Bank expects global energy prices to rise 32% in 2026, reaching their highest level in four years due to the war in the region.

📌The Bank expects global oil supply to fall by 5.2% in 2026, the largest decline in more than four decades, excluding the global recession of 2020.

📌Overall commodity prices will jump 23% in 2026 due to global shocks before falling 7% in 2027.

And what are the current trends to date seeing as how we're in 4Q2026?

Exactly how is Iran planning to cut undersea cables globally?

If there is any question regarding what US airpower is capable of, suggest some of ya' look up photos from Hwy 80. And that was just a highway.
I don't doubt the US air or naval power but the Iranians have threatened to cut all the cables in their area recently....it can cause alot of disruptions if they actually do it

Record prices? 🤣 Brent prices were running on average $110 barrel in the early 2010s and US GDP per capita has risen 75%+ since then.

US GDP is growing near 3% on the year and 3.4% in the latest quarter. Gas prices aren’t having anywhere near the effect on the US economy you think it is.

Meanwhile Iran is fully blockaded, contracting over 10%+, running near 100% inflation, and a rial that’s worth less than my roll of toilet paper.
But, as usual and not surprisingly, you staunchly refuse to look at the other side of the balance sheet. Not to mention a lot of debt spending is occurring especially at the household level.

Housing starts again continue to decline. Including my own, my builder has only one other house underway at the moment. Another that he will be building about a mile or two from me may get delayed.

Tract homes have slowed to almost nothing in my area.

True.

Though, the threat was globally.

And, as someone who had one point managed network services for two of the BUs I was in, traffic can be rerouted.

If Iran has any aspirations of shutting down the global network, they'd better have a better plan than cutting some cables.

Ok, after reading a number of posts here, any discussions around the US Economy should be taken up in the US Economy thread. We're starting to clutter this one with too much economic discussion.

US have moved a fair few aircraft away from Al Udied Air Base in the past 2 days.

This could be a diversion. Or, the US expects IRI direct missile attacks into XJD where the defenses aren't as layered as they are in TLV and surrounding area.

4 more days to the election, and we're still not sure what's coming and when.
What a situational quagmire.

You may have seen my post over in the big thread regarding potential targets.

I've not doubt the coordinates of everything I listed has been programmed in already along with secondary targets if necessary.

A few people are excited the TR is enroute. There's no need to wait for her to come on station.

Make it whatever you want of it, but i paid 3.70$ per gallon yesterday here in the heart of Tampa, much much better than paying 4.20$ per Gallon from sometime ago.

So you raised the bar higher like I said you were like I said your an actually smart guy but doesn’t mean your not predictable I mean believe it or not I actually want to like you(not that I dislike you by the way) but man you got to loosen up on the actual realities this “war” or whatever it is at this moment isn’t going to change with another massive bombing run Iran can replace their leaders faster than Bibi or Trump can take them out and every time they have taken them out the guys taking over make the other guy seem like Mr Roger’s

It’s back up to around 4.20 in Fort Lauderdale

Going to expand the scope of the discussion a bit:

Now, you all are probably thinking "where the hell is this place?" Well, let me show you:

The purple circle is Shemya. Attu is one of the two islands captured by the Japanese during the second world war. Kiska being the other.

The two islands with green arrows pointed at them? That's Russia.

The article is well worth the read. It also says this latest move does not mean the base is going to be permanently staffed. But, without saying it, it also means there is enough concern that units out of Elemendorf and Eielson are out there for a bit.

I'm calling bs on Russian threat. Something is going on it seems the whole world has lost its cht with governments all over the world warning us about prepping for a possible grid failure and world war and now USAF deploys in Alaskan island that hasn't been used since early 90s?

The chatter has gotten so loud that I had to talk to my girls about coming home if something happens and today my brother-in-law (older sister husband) who is a consultant for Tiberius Aerospace was telling me he's been talking to folks some from intel realm that were telling him this is real and not some test or exercise they know something and are worried. Wtf.

If not Russians, then who? The Chinese? North Koreans?

Something is definitely up. Couple folks I know who might be in Poland are suddenly silent.

I need to call my oldest spawn. Her husband had orders for CONUS (I won't post where). Will be interested to know if that has changed.
