US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Really are you sure so they’re back to “normal” levels without Iranian oil and it seems like these days a few tankers with 2 million barrels of oil being struck by Iran(but everything is normal right) but I think we have gone over this a million times even “if” everything is back to normal minus a couple million barrels of Iranian oil how are those reserves that were being used to keep oil prices stable going to be refilled answer is you need to pump a lot more oil than before the war………

but if this war restarts, kiss everything goodbye bcaz then who will stop both sides from devastation?
Since the war hasn’t actually stopped but gone to extra innings with the straits “totally safe and normal” and Houthis striking Saudi military and oil infrastructure I think Iran has changed the game a bit to put the heat on everyone……

Most likely bluffing. Maybe a dead cat bounce. But the final outcome will remain the same.

Regarding a 72 hour bag; unless you are one of those fortunate ones who can afford to eat out every day, I am confident you all have most if not all of this in your home. Or could with a short trip to the grocery store:

I have ALL of the above in my pantry right now.

Damnit! I knew I should have bought Mountain House stock:

Joking aside, this is deep serious. Buckets, cans, and kits; a lot marked Out of Stock.

We call that hurricane food and we still have plenty of it plus propane six cases of 35 pack water and honestly just a lot of random stuff I really should get a gun permit but I’m actually anti gun for people who shouldn’t have it

Outside of a firearm, you and your family should be fine.

I am well prepared for any hood rats looking to do some bargain shopping.

Three days worth of provisions is not as much as you might think. Posting such a question to ChatGPT:

There is no reliable, regularly updated national measurement of exactly how many days of food the average American household keeps at home.

However, the available research gives us a useful estimate.

The best available estimates

About 7-14 days

A reasonable planning estimate for an ordinary U.S. household's food inventory.

This is an approximation, not a current nationally measured average.
There are several relevant studies:

  • 2015 New Jersey household study: Researchers inventoried food in 100 food-secure households and calculated an average of 33.16 days of calories. This is a small, non-national sample and should not be treated as the U.S. average.

  • 2014 national preparedness survey: 96% of respondents reported having at least three days of nonperishable food.

  • 1962 USDA survey: Approximately one-third of households estimated they could stretch their existing food for a week or less. This is historical evidence, not a current estimate.

What does the government recommend?

The USDA recommends keeping at least three days of nonperishable food available, along with three gallons of drinking water per person for three days.

My Practical Assessment

I would distinguish ordinary household inventory from emergency preparedness:

Food supplyAssessment
1–3 daysMinimal buffer
7 daysBasic preparedness
14 daysGood household reserve
30 daysStrong preparedness
60–90 daysExtended emergency reserve

My recommendation: A 30-day food supply is a reasonable preparedness target for a household that wants to be resilient to temporary disruptions in grocery distribution, transportation, or severe weather.

One important consideration: food alone isn't sufficient. Drinking water, cooking fuel, refrigeration, and medications can become limiting factors too.

I can also calculate how much food, water, and basic supplies a family of four would need for a 30-, 60-, or 90-day emergency reserve.
Sir none of the people read what we type... We literally answered the 72 hour kit questions many days back.

Frankly I am tired of entertaining questions and will revert to memeing

Thankfully I only had one issue in my area some kids shit at me with an air soft pellet didn’t hurt I went to be an adult told them that not all people would be as lenient they started to flex I grabbed a beer bottle on the floor broke it and said ok whose first(swear to god true story) 4 hood rats against 1 they walked away said you a bitch 🤦 why I can’t have a weapon in that situation I probably would have used it but as I told you my area for the most part is nice not to far from sawgrass mills
