Davey, interesting article. You know as I do that for now, the radical faction of the Democrat Party is not likely to win the fight. Too many of the Party elders are feeding from the same hand as the folks on the other side. I'm not sure what it's going to take. I really don't.

Just look at how many years we spent in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

I don't see this ending anytime soon. Unfortunately, those who do want it ended also have no issue with the US being humiliated on the world stage. Secretly, that is what they are pushing for.

Iraq and Afghanistan was benign attempt at nation building based on Jeffersonian democracy... it's not the same here , this comparison on your part is intellectual laziness.

Trump claiming he was misled about the war but at the same time threatening to destroy Iran. He also knows next 2 years he will be a lame duck and a very good chance that is Dems win the presidency in 2 years he could end up in jail

Right now trump is like a woman scorned , he can do anything.

Iran was/is using proxies in the middleeast for long time, thats wrong too on many fronts. So it was a threat as its actively trying to encircle Saudi Arabia from all sides using sectarian angle and proxies.....going against israel was/is understandable but even that has been very costly for Syria and Iraq and Lebanon and it didnt help much.

Russia had its own reasons and concerns due to NATO encroachment in ukraine.

When you start to piss other countries unnecessarily and meddle in their affairs, it doesnt end well and there are repercussions.......Iran will also pay the price for it and won't be spared.

First. Irán didn´t started any war. It was Hamás who attacked israelis on 7 october. Even Mossad says Irán was not involved.

Second. Hizbollah and Houthies answered to a Genocide. When ALL THE REST OF THE WORLD did nothing they did.

Neither Hizbollah nor Houthies attacked Saudi Arabia or even Syria when Al Assad fell.

And again, when bombs fall again in Tehran, just run to your shelter. The person who drops it is just as guilty as the one who opens the airspace for it to be dropped.

From my colleagues working in Commercial R&D sectors of Iran, the blockade is becoming extremely painful for Iranian industries.
For example, take the automotive sector - a large portion of automotive industry is owned by public sector companies who were producing thousands of vehicles daily eg. Khudro Iranian
Another major player was Bahman group who relied heavily on Chinese auto parts for manufacturing.

Iranian govt owned companies like Khudro have no money to pay the companies supplying them automotive Specialty chemicals like coatings, CED & pretreatment solutions due to complete halt in their auto exports and dwindling local demand
On the other hand Bahman group is facing sever shortage in chinese origin auto parts due to difficult supply chain routes.

Now not only auto industry - the third largest industry of iran along with the auto associated industries is on complete halt due to blockade and tough economic situation at home, other industries like those associated with Marine are also facing difficult situation.

Simple Air strikes would not have created this looping effect on whole industrial ecosystem of Iran. Trump legacy aka The Blockade is destroying Iran from its very core and it's extremely dangerous if Trump continues with this approach.
