You’re right Newsom hasn’t gone a great job in California, but elections, with large turnouts by low information voters may pivot on “vibes”; remember “Hope and change”. Hopefully both parties do real work, present real sustainable platforms and we get good choices come 2026 and 2028.
 
That's the problem. Both sides rely on low information voters.

I'm not counting on there being any good choices. Career politicians and the establishment will make sure of that.

You don't need to do a great job to get elected; all you need is the illusion that you are doing the work. In fact, what Trump shows us is that you don't even need a plan to do what you said you would do to get elected.

And we have to blame ourselves for this. Because we no longer use our brain to try to figure out what is good for us, instead the majority of us is just listen to the digested opinion and relying on that to make our decision, and then where those "opinions" come from does not help at all.

As a 2000s gamer will say, it's all hype and no substance.
