US Political News and Trump’s China visit

What saddens me the most is that the American people thought that such a subhuman was preferable to the left wing garbage alternative. They may have a point there, I will concede.

It is all about immigration

Biden allowed 2.5 million people to cross the border and apply for political asylum

Something the likes of @j_hungary will never understand

Epstein was a good judge of character, as he saw people for who they are once their guard was down. I agree with his assessment of Trump.

To me, Trump is someone who has never been encumbered by intellect. He's as repulsive on the inside as he is on the outside.

I suggest you read Epstein law passed by Congress

Permitted Withholdings.—(1) The Attorney general may withhold or redact the segregable portions of records that—
(E) contain information specifically authorized under criteria established by an Executive order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign policy and are in fact properly classified pursuant to such Executive order.

If the Attorney General makes a determination that covered information may not be declassified and made available in a manner that protects the national security of the United States, including methods or sources related to national security, the Attorney General shall release an unclassified summary for each of the redacted or withheld classified information.

Ask yourselves what a child molester has to do with national security

Look if Jose enters the border and is granted residence while his asylum claim is being processed, whole of Jose's village and clan is going to be at the border

Biden allowed 2.5 million people to get in this way. The difference is Trump is not
Dude, Trump did NOT stop the asylum process at all, and not all 2.5 million that were let in by Biden applied for asylum. There are only 100,000 processed, and then not all of them are defensive asylum applications ( the majority of those are affirmative asylum, ie, they come by legal means). Show me where 2.5 million applied for asylum during Biden. And you don't have "residence" after you applied for asylum, you have a "Furlough." If you have a residence, either temporary or permanent, they CAN'T deport you.

Better yet, answer my original questions before showing me anything. I am not interested in anything else you say until you answer my question.

  • Individuals Released into the U.S.: Estimates of the number of individuals who have entered the U.S. and remained vary depending on the source and methodology. The Migration Policy Institute estimated approximately 6 million entries between January 2021 and April 2024. The Center for Immigration Studies estimates the flow of new "illegal immigrants" under the Biden administration to be 6 million or more. Other sources have cited numbers in the range of 7 to 8 million.
These numbers do not include the millions of unknowns who entered. Figure over ten million illegals during the Biden presidency alone.

So, not 2.5 mil huh?

Well, why stop at 10 million? I mean if you have to scare people, why not said hundred of millions of illegal immigrants went into the US? You won't be able to find out anyway.

It's info like this have factchecker like me go insane.

One could even argue whether the concept of bipartisanship really do exist?

Think about it like this: would you design a government in a way you know it can't work unless you have people who meet in the middle? And then progress to take away all the power of a government?

If the functioning of bipartisanship is a work of convenience, then I will say this concept does not exist in reality.
Bipartisanship works when the gulf between the two parties (two interest groups) isn’t as wide and making compromises doesn’t undermine either parities core interests.

Now it seems we yo-yo between the two interest groups, such that each election is a contest of who gets to dominate the other half of the country, and why people act like it’s so existential, every time.

We can have bipartisanship, if we re-establish consensus on what most agree upon. But there are too many in the gerontocracy that have “paid their dues” and want to see their vision come to fruition, at least for a while. More so on the republican side, as Dems have won the culture wars for a long time.

That's the problem now, isn't it? If the gulf between the two parties isn't as wide, then there is no need to have 2 parties or more to begin with.

If the core value of bi-partisanship is to make people walk in the middle, then you need to have concessions in the system. I will not say the separation of powers is the right way to encourage "meet me in the middle." For a long time, we weren't doing any politics, and the goal for each party that wins the house is basically not let the other party win.

I had a talk with some people in last year's Australian election, and they asked me why the US has this bipartisanship, it was supposed to be making things go equally and fairly, but in reality, nothing was done.

This is how the Philly DA stood up to ICE overaggressive actions:

There was bipartisanship consensus, at least in the past, that we should never have a national government ID. The right (especially those that called themselves libertarian) was the most vehemently opposed, but with time, they are now embrace the “papers please” mantra. First, claiming to prevent fraudulent elections, but now with ICE demanding to know the citizenship status of anyone they come across on the street.

This is repugnant to constitution and the liberties we hold dear. These transgressions are an anathema to the bill of rights, specifically the 4th and 5th amendments.

Bipartisanship failed as one side, seeing they were losing the culture war, embraced ideologies that were once beyond the pale and seen as UnAmerican by generations prior.

ICE, in its excesses, is the most visible domestic overreach of Trump’s agenda. 15% of republicans want to abolish ICE, therefore bipartisanship will come if democrats can find a way to sway over republicans to their cause without abandoning their base.

Orange man needs to send the troops and crack some demonrat skulls quickly. It is the ONLY way these people are going to understand the consequences. Also make demonrat politicians inciting this suffer severe consequences like a riffle smack to their faces.
