USTR seeks comment on possible US-China tariff cuts under Board of Trade​

  • USTR official notice makes no mention of $30 billion target for managed trade

WASHINGTON, June 2 (Reuters) - The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on Tuesday opened a public comment process on the "U.S.-China Board of Trade" agreed by the two countries' leaders last month that could lead to both sides cutting tariffs on some non-strategic goods.

USTR said in a statement that it is seeking input on "specific types of non-sensitive products" that could benefit from ⁠tariff modifications on both sides, with comments due July 10.

The announcement marks an initial step towards implementing the Board of Trade body that President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to form at their mid-May summit in Beijing.

California has become such a mess politically. And, it was all by design.

This is what Democrats want for the rest of the country.
 
I have not been on the forum since Massie lost his election, but I wanted to come back and say something because his defeat has been bothering me. Massie’s loss is not just a loss for the GOP. It is a loss for the whole country. I did not agree with him on everything, but he was one of the last real fiscal conservatives who actually voted on principle.

When I became a citizen in 2014, I registered independent because I never fit neatly into either perty. I believe in fiscal discipline and capitalism, but I also believe in strong social programs like Social Security, Medicaid, Obamacare, EBT, rental help, and school meals. I also believe the federal government should live within its means just like states do.

He opposed Trump’s deficit heavy bills, he opposed unnecessary foreign wars like the Iran mess, and he pushed for transparency on Epstein files. Because of that, he ended up targeted by Trump’s support for his opponent and by AIPAC’s deep pockets. His opponent would not even debate him and will probably be another rubber stamp for more spending and more Middle East entanglements.

With Massie gone, Rand Paul is basically the last true fiscal conservative left in the Republican Party. The rest talk tough but vote for every bloated bill. Whether people liked Massie or not, losing someone with that level of integrity is a real loss for America.

You realize we agree on more than you think we do. With exception of Obamacare. It was designed from the start to fail.

You do realize all of those programs have become huge fraud funds in need of serious overhaul and accountability.

Platner is becoming a liability. Schumer stupidly endorsed him. The backroom leadership says otherwise and is bringing the coke sniffer back into the game.

Good grief, as disorganized and disjointed as the Democrats are at the moment, the Republicans actually stand a chance of holding what they've got.

California election shenanigans in full force. Only 54% of the vote counted so far. *Officials* say it may take weeks to complete.

Yup good old Californy.... SCOTUS will hopefully decide soon to end these shenanigans.

California Democrat party as it currently is won't last long as deportations and folks leaving will shrink dem congressional seats. Next census is going to destroy them locally and nationally especially as GOP redistricting continues in 2028.

Having said that they could still do a lot of damage on their way out but eventually they are not going to have a choice but to go back to the early 90's democrats or never again gain any power. Democrats poll nationally in the low 20s they are hated and despised more in their current state than GOP.
