You need to show a valid ID to prove that you are indeed the person eligible for "Never ending Pasta". That is so people don't spend $100 and then keep handing the Pasta Pass to everybody to use for like $5 a pop. Olive Garden is basically requiring ID due to the usual "This is why we can't have good things" meme of people always finding a way to abuse something good.

So the politician kind of does have a valid point about requiring ID at voting booths due to abuse.

A four-year fight on state-mandated, multi-family zoning designed to increase housing stock in communities served by the MBTA came to an apparent end in Marblehead on Monday night when town meeting members supported a compromise plan consisting largely of the Tedesco Golf Course.
