Biden Jokes About Age And Memory At White House Event — Gets Huge Reaction From Crowd

A majority of Americans and nearly a third of Democrats believe that President Joe Biden benefitted from “special treatment” during the investigation into his improper retention of classified documents.
Late last week, Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report in which he concluded that while “President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” criminal charges were not “warranted.”

In explaining his decision, Hur cited Biden’s cooperation with the investigation and, perhaps most notably, memory issues. He wrote:
In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (“if it was 2013 – when did I stop being Vice President?”), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (“in 2009, am I still Vice President?”). He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.
“At trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” concluded Hur.
While the White House and many in progressive media have complained that Hur’s description of Biden was gratuitous, those protests are out-of-step with public opinion.
According to a new poll from Reuters/Ipsos released on Tuesday, 53% of respondents and 29% of Democrats agreed with the idea that “Biden received special treatment because he is the U.S. president.”

The same survey found that 78% of Americans and a whopping 71% of Democrats believe Biden is too old to continue to work out of the Oval Office.
Those figures track with an ABC News/Ipsos roll released over the weekend that found that 86% of Americans and 73% of Democrats believe Biden is too old to serve another term.
