US to soon initiate Military support to Pakistan along with bi-lateral Trade growth, the Economist report

aw-139s were opted instead of S-70/mh-60s even though S-70s have the best hot and high performance of any Mil chopper, so we won't see S-70s or its derivates being inducted 412EPX maybe , UH-1y unlikely to be opted.

It would be foolish for PN to opt for any other platform then AW-139M even if they get that for pennies.AW-139 has an MRO in kamra with more then 20 operational within all branches and government it is best choice for supply chain and ease of maintenance and training.

PAA once had this issue of having too many types they thankfully now have streamlined it and so should every other force.
Mi-17s for heavy
AW-139s for Medium
H-125 for light
nah pak forces are interested in S70 based birds still.

There is no maritime patrol 139 so thats the issue. too much work, at too much cost and time expense needed

Chinooks will never be cleared for FMS to pakistan due to its tandem rotor design being studied by Chinese.
We should hope China builds its own tandem rotor design (probably picking up a working Iranian Chinook and building upon it) so it’s not considered a sensitive tech anymore. Considering China has just publicly unveiled the tilt rotor aircraft, it looks like a “regular” tandem rotor helicopter should not be seen as that far off.

Funny enough, China did try that actually with Taiwan by bribing a col to fly all the to mainland China he was caught before he could attempt lol

Everyone is interested in the S-70s, and even the Chinese still loves their 80s S-70s. They continue to use their Blackhawks for rescue operations in remote areas, and it tells you all you need to know about the system as this is the only aircraft from that era still functional in the PLA. Despite making copies, they just can't beat the OG.

MH-60s are very expensive systems, which is likely why they’re not considered. However, older S-70i/UH-60L/M models are excellent, with no supply chain issues since half the world operates them. Even 3/4 of our neighboring countries have them, though the Afghans seem to have the worst ones.

The PAA could have acquired five used UH-60 L/Ms for the price of one AW-139, but they chose not to, tells how the interested they are.

this is for maritime patrol/ASW. Its a non comparison.

MH60Rs are probably on the cheaper side for high end ASW.

I remember that story. The reason given for wanting the Taiwanese Chinook and not the decades old Iranian chinook was the updated features on the modern craft. So it’s not really the twin rotor system that China can’t master, it’s the exact subsystems China wants; Taiwan specific possibly.
