Help Wanted

Hilarious:

  • A slick TV commercial created by ICE that is currently airing on NBC Chicago and other local television stations is controversial for several reasons. The ad tries to attract disgruntled Chicago and suburban police officers to work at the federal agency that has ramped up immigration arrests since President Donald Trump took office. The blunt recruiting ad comes as ICE teams are marching through the city and suburbs making arrests.

Also, the commercial takes dead aim at Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who is not a fan of the agency or it’s tactics.

The ICE TV spot begins: “Attention Chicago law enforcement. You took an oath to protect and serve, to keep your family, your city safe. But in sanctuary cities, you’re ordered to stand down,” referring to a no-cooperation policy that Chicago has in place. The TV ad offers a solution: “Join ICE, and help us catch the worst of the worst.”

The commercial is a blatant attempt at poaching officers from already dwindling ranks at the Chicago Police Department and puts a bull’s eye on City Hall and Mayor Brandon Johnson.

"Can I just say that it's a horrible way to recruit?" Johnson said on Tuesday.
Um, we don't see the national administration telling people that "law enforcement is a sickness." That's a step up from your failed administration already.

They don't wear cameras. They don't have four or five different oversight agencies looking to put you in prison. They're actually encouraged to enforce the Law. Their pension is system is unlikely to go bankrupt.

Sure, there are downsides, but if you're a young copper with less ties to this blue city blue state shithole and less family tying you down, it's worth a look.

On a side note, has everyone been watching Conehead? We mean really watching him lately. Dude is literally breaking down in slow motion. It would almost be sad if he was a human being, but he's a worthless commie puppet for the CTU and Prickwrinkle. (our insults are slightly more creative than Conehead's)

Am seeing more and more postings of people defending illegals and deliberately interfering with ICE agents in the execution their duties. ICE is somewhat escalating their responses to the interference. Frankly, I'm okay with that.

Can't tell you how many times I would be in an airport, most notably in PHX, and see a bunch of people, clearly illegals, with their assigned NGO official with them, and they are ALL carrying brand new US passports.

hey Democrats should love ICE because they can do the usual pointing at the same stats they typically use "proving" the crime rate has gone down.

so lets pat LA politicians on the back for significantly "reducing crime" this summer as the stats "prove".

After ICE raids surged this summer, calls to LAPD plummeted

At the same time that federal immigration enforcement ramped up across the Los Angeles area this summer, calls for help to local police plummeted.

Emergency dispatch data reviewed by The Times show a major decrease in LAPD calls for service in June, during the weeks when sweeps by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies were met by large street protests in downtown Los Angeles.

In a city where roughly a third of the population is foreign-born, the steep decline in calls adds to long-standing concerns from advocates that aggressive immigration enforcement leads to domestic abuse and other crimes going unreported because victims fear triggering deportations.

In the two weeks after June 6, when the immigration raids kicked off, LAPD calls for service fell 28% compared with the same period last year — an average of roughly 1,200 fewer calls per day.

LAPD officers responded to roughly 44,000 calls for service in that two-week span — versus nearly 61,000 calls during the same days in June 2024.

The calls include reports of serious crimes, such as home break-ins and domestic disputes, along with instances when the public has sought help with noisy neighbors, loud parties and other routine matters.

The data analyzed by The Times do not include all 911 calls — only LAPD calls for service, which are typically registered when a squad car is dispatched. Though multiple people may call 911 in connection with a single incident, in most cases only one LAPD call for service is recorded.

The decrease was especially noticeable for LAPD calls responding to suspected domestic violence and other incidents related to family disputes, which fell this year by 7% and 16%, respectively, after the ICE activity increased. Although family-related calls later began to creep back to 2024 levels, those for domestic incidents kept declining.

I need to go back and locate the source. Newsom is already doing just that. Publishing the crime stats and saying "See? Crime is coming down under my leadership."

I am seeing more and more people calling up their local law enforcement on suspected illegals/immigrants.

Last night a local officer came into my truck stop and asked me to let him know when a certain vehicle leaves the truck stop and head south.

A Middle Eastern man, sleeping in his car, most likely heading to Dallas where there is a large Muslim population.

Neither let the young Muslim man know what was happening, nor did I call the police when the young Muslim woke up and left on his trip south.

It was best he did not know, and be thankful it was me the officer talked to.

I have been warning times like these was coming months before Trump's election.

Don't fool yourselves, sooner or later your papers are not going to matter. In a post earlier in this thread, remember posting a statement from a Trump official saying most immigration papers are fraudulent anyways.

FY25 is coming to an end (end on Sept 30), let's see how our beloved ICE is doing on the illegal removal front

Well, I guess ICE probably arrested more Americans protesting against them (Which they can't deport) than illegal immigrants in the first 9 months of the Trump presidency...

Check back on December for Q1 FY26 number...

Update (1155):

FBI Special Agent in Charge Joe Rothrock told reporters that the ICE facility shooting in Dallas was a "targeted attack," and agents at the scene recovered rounds marked with "anti-ICE messages."

Rothrock reminded reporters, "This is the most recent example of targeted violence." He referred them to the July 4th attack on ICE in the state.
