Funny. I remember talk of another Ice Age in the late 60s / early 70s. Summer time temperatures were cooler than normal for a few years and the winter snows stayed longer. Everyone was getting concerned.

Some things you just can't let bring your life to a halt.

71F as off writing this post in Tampa, very chill and beautiful and enjoyable weather, but praying for those who stuck in storms, stay safe and stay warm guys... get some Chicken soup easy to make and good source of protein.

Yes, in New England we have been let off the hook for at least the last 15 years. My snowblower died about 15 years ago and I haven't had a need to replace it. Meanwhile back in the 70's walking outside to 1+ feet of heavy wet snow was not unusual.

NEVER A HAT for me!
Power just got restored after nearly 24 hours. It was a brutal night were my lack of cold weather skills got exposed shamefully to wife--but then she probably already knew that. Haha! From not getting the new gas powered generator handy to wrong stacking of firewood in the fireplace to not having enough firewood, it was not a pleasant night trying to keep warm and around 2-3 am, we both gave up and snuggled under a very warm blanket in the bedroom because the firewood was nearly depleted.
Lessons learned!

Hey, any reason to snuggle is good.

Glad you have your power back.

(A word of advice, if I may: the time to get generator etc. ready is well before they are needed. Test run the generator to be handy now when it is not needed, to be ready for when it is needed.)

Buddy of mine in OK (30 min NE of Tulsa) has about 4-5" of snow on the ground. Was 4F this morning.

Buddy in Florida reports it is raining. Forecast calls for temps of 36F tonight.

Haven't heard yet from the one in TX.
