Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

they found a way to capture the president, but not to influence Venezuela. Maduro's replacement has been signed in and vowed to resist Trump's demands. no changes in government policy. but it's a fluid situation and we have to see what Trump has planned.
Lol. Come on dude less emotion and more logic. Those in charged are puppets right now and will do what Orange man says. They were likely responsible for turning on Maduro you don't think US "talked" to them before, during and after operation about how this cht is going to work? They were spared to be the transitional gov nothing more nothing less and they knew what would happen to them if they said no. They are talking tough right now to make sure Maduro loyalist don't publicly hang them.

Orange man doesn't want chaos in the streets of Venezuela it would be a bad PR image so they get a temporary job to keep the country from collapsing and when done they get to keep their lives and their bank accounts.

It’s simply not as simple to predict and it can go either way. I am only pointing to a very real possibility (not a certainty).

Agreed. The next few weeks would be important indeed.

The motorcycles will make it difficult for the USA to impose anyone, that the people dont want. Given the kidnapping of the leader, will the people see María Corina Machado Parisca as this leader now? She has been very much a promoter of this operation, and while some will be happy to see the back of Maduro, that in the revised conditions does not now mean they will be happy with María Corina Machado Parisca as they may see her as part of the USA imperial regime hold of their land. The elections now, for a new leader may well yield a result that is not favourable to María Corina Machado Parisca.
Elections can be forced/rigged in favor of a US puppet

Already done:

"United States has been a net exporter of oil and petroleum products since late August 2021, exporting more than it imports. In 2023, U.S. exports of crude oil and petroleum products totaled about 10.15 million barrels per day, while imports were approximately 8.53 million barrels per day."
Shale had changed the game long time ago.

And oil itself will lose importance every passing day. The transition is very real and under way.

zero emotion here

Those in charged are puppets right now and will do what Orange man says.
this is just not true.

his second in command was sworn in and publicly rebuked Trump's demands and issued a decree for nationwide mobilisation

They are talking tough right now to make sure Maduro loyalist don't publicly hang them.
no evidence for this. purely your speculation. we will have to wait and see.

I would disagree and say they took out Maduro but an overall regieme change goes beyond and will need to dismantle his system.
What is likely been happening and is going to happen is constant backchannel efforts to pass the message that the Maduro support disappears and US companies are allowed in. Drugs are not really that much of a concern.

It is preferable for the US as well to NOT "invade" or otherwise and instead do a quasi colonial takeover of Venezuela's oil fields. Putting troops on the ground means that despite having utter supremacy in the air - you are putting troops or rather "technology" in some parity(man with gun vs man with gun) even if there is overwhelming advantage to one side.
Why do you think Israel is doing all the scorched earth in Gaza?
If we take the aspect of genocide and fear out of the equation for just this bit - and look at it purely efficiency perspective - it is "safer" for IDF to not put man vs man but completely decimate any living thing in an area before coming in to occupy it.

For the US the focus is at the end to remove dependency on middle eastern oil which then allows flexibility for much more harshness there - which is the ultimate goal because it frees up US Business and GCC investment pressure on US economy and it can support Israel more freely.

It can be called a conspiracy but a conspiracy is only a conspiracy if you cannot tell what it is for. In this case everyone "knows" what the intervention is for but no one really wants to acknowledge and say it.

Sounds more like they want GCC destroyed because GCC is getting places economically

It's not in US interest but Israeli interest

That would be very dangerous and you can kiss Jewish people goodbye if the US sponsors a Jewish Crusade in the region

There is more to that - just extracting US oil isnt the issue.
The local moves reduces domestic supply pressures but doesn't eliminate strategic incentives for accessing foreign reserves like Venezuela's, which hold the world's largest proven reserves at around 300 billion barrels which are far exceeding US totals.
US firms gain direct profits by investing in Venezuela's broken infrastructure, where companies like Chevron already operate and could expand post-Maduro, repairing pipelines and boosting output from current lows near 800,000 barrels per day to historical peaks over 3 million.

BTW - Gulf Coast refineries prefer cheaper heavier sweet crude Venezuelan grades which these complexes invested decades adapting cokers and hydrocrackers precisely for Venezuelan grades, creating a structural fit unmatched by most alternatives. Its location enables direct tanker shipments to US refineries without pipelines, cutting costs versus Canadian oil sands that require diluent and long-haul transport.

So yes, but not - there is a short term and a longer term optimized goal. With Venezuela you can now properly smack the Saudis, corner the Canadians and put Russia in a further bind.

There is what eschatology(in all its adulterated forms) makes you believe and what at least from pure metrics and history shows.

Please keep the IK and PTI theories out of this. Finding external reasons when you are internally flawed only shows the failure of people - not some external conspiracy.

Kinda knocks the wind outta the sails of the "it's to grab the oil" ship.

Yes, but it is also important to keep in mind that general economic conditions and an innate desire to see them improve, instead of deteriorate , are potent motivators of how a nation would think collectively.

The Venezuelans have suffered economically in recent years, have they not?
Its their country if theyve suffered or not - its not a matter for the US to come and steal their assets and pretend to liberate them. God sake man have some self respect. Your defending some bastards that specialize in stealing others assets. How do you blindly insert yourself in the US even when you know they are clearly destroying nations with pure intent to take their oil?
