President Donald Trump said Saturday that the United States is now working with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez after the US captured Nicolás Maduro.

Asked by reporters whether he is willing to work with Rodríguez, Trump said that she was sworn in as president, but that she was “picked by Maduro.”

The president said Secretary of State Marco Rubio “just had a conversation with her, and she’s essentially willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again.”

He added later that Rodríguez “had a long conversation with Marco, and she said, ‘We’ll do whatever you need.’ … I think she was quite gracious, but she really doesn’t have a choice.

And a declining power that picks fights with impoverished third world countries to continue feeding an out of control MIC and to prove to itself it's still somebody. Meanwhile American public lives with poor healthcare, poor economic prospects and poor infrastructure.

The US is the wealthiest it’s ever been. Its share of world GDP is comparable to the mid 90s. Americans have the highest disposable incomes in the world. The US controls over half of the world’s market capitalization and the most important tech companies in the world which make it the world’s OS.

America in “decline” is a total hopium take.

Trump questions Machado’s ability to lead Venezuela: "She doesn't have the support”

From CNN's Alejandra Jaramillo

President Donald Trump said Saturday that he does not believe Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has the support or respect needed to lead the country following the capture of Nicolás Maduro.

Pressed on whether he has been in contact with Machado since Maduro’s capture, Trump said, “no.”

“I think it’d be very tough for her to be the leader. She doesn’t have the support within or the respect within the country. She’s a very nice woman, but she doesn’t have the respect to be leader.”

Trump clarifies US troops would be on the ground in Venezuela to secure oil

From CNN's Kit Maher

President Donald Trump clarified that the US would put troops in Venezuela for the purposes of securing oil, vowing the money would go toward reimbursing Venezuelans and the United States for damages caused under Nicolás Maduro’s leadership.

Trump said earlier during a news conference in Florida that he would not rule out the possibility of US military involvement, saying, “We’re not afraid of boots in the ground.”

Asked by CNN’s Kevin Liptak whether he envisions US boots on the ground while the US essentially runs the Venezuelan government in an interim period, Trump said, “Well, no, we’re going to have a presence in Venezuela as it pertains to oil.”

Trump downplayed how many troops would be needed, adding, “We’re sending our expertise in, so you may need something, not very much.”

“We’re going to be taking out a tremendous amount of wealth out of the ground, and that wealth is going to the people of Venezuela and people from outside of Venezuela that used to be in Venezuela. And it goes also to the United States of America in the form of reimbursement for the damages caused us by that country,” Trump said.

Saudis will be the big losers here. Americans have successfully grabbed the world’s largest oil reserves. Saudis will no longer be needed by the Americans that much now. If I was Riyadh today I would be feeling very vulnerable and bad news for them.
Not really, they already moved their sales to asia mostly.

They’ just got on massive oil reserves now, so spare the concern about Americans. The U.S. will be just fine. It leadership with all its flaws, actually prioritizes national strength and long term prosperity. Contrast that dysfunctional states run by corrupt elites who loot their own countries into the ground and call it governance. One system builds power, the other perfects failure!

It's a shame that some people here actually support this US aggression towards a sovereign state.

It is the law of the jungle now. There is no rules based order anymore. Something the Chinese will need to learn if that are that naive.

There are many indicators if one merely opens their eyes, from the $40 trillion debt to endless trillions wasted in endless wars abroad. Meanwhile physical health, democratic metrics, infrastructure, mental health all continue to decline.
Every modern economy have debt (Assets = Liabilities), but there are different types of debt. You need to understand the debt in question. The USD have contributed to American debt because it is used worldwide for holdings and financial transactions. It is in the books but the US continues to meet its financial obligations worldwide because the American economy is not shrinking but expanding in time. The debt is ultimately "managed." The entire world have uncertain future due to the existing financial system (globalization), if this is your concern. But many countries are lacking in resources, options and contingency planning in comparison to the US. The US have shale gas, largest gold reserves and sufficient military might to extract from other countries should the need arise. The US can also come up with a new financial system if the existing financial system fails. The Bretton Woods failed but the world continues.

They're implementing the Monroe Doctrine all over again. The Latin nations will be forced to accept American hegemony.

By controlling Latin America + ME the Americans effectively control the world's oil. Petro dollar will continue to be a thing. This is looking at things practically.

Russia is extremely incompetent and useless, they didn't know there was a massive US deployment in Cuba exercises and never assisted old friends at all. It is time to dump Russia.

US should capture Moscow next quick and surprise!

Trump:

Nobody can stop us. There’s nobody with the capability that we have.

When I watch that war in Russia going on and on and on, with everybody dying, it’s primitive. It’s primitive. It’s horrible.

My friend, blaming Russia is not correct. At a distance of 14,000 kilometers, no country is willing to engage in conflict with the United States, unless direct intercontinental missile nuclear attacks are launched. At a distance of 14,000 kilometers, even the strongest support cannot offset the consumption of a conventional war, and the U.S. cannot do it either. I hope brothers serving in the military can explain the issues of transporting supplies over 14,000 kilometers.

Distance is very important in war. For example, Pakistan's J-10CP—other countries believe the PL-15 has a range of over 145 kilometers, but the brave Pakistan Air Force achieved a world record with a kill beyond 190KM.

Similarly, if Pakistan were in South America, no matter how good the relationship, we would still be unable to provide assistance.

I'm impressed with the capability to do this without US casualties. In Panama there were US deaths and Panama was a way smaller nation with no military.
One of the smoothest operations in history but the real takeaway is the lesson behind it. Any dictator who believes they can rule a country without the genuine support of their people is fooling themselves. Power built on fear, corruption, and isolation always collapses sooner or later. Watching this unfold should be a shock to every strongman still clinging to the illusion of control Maduro included. History has a way of reminding leaders that authority without legitimacy is fragile.”
