Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

They captured a sitting president alive from his own country in just three hours, and you think it’s a joke? You may have an issue with America, but credit should be given where it is clearly due.”
It's quite trivial when you have a bunch of Mir Bajwas running around your whole security establishment. What Americans did with Ghq duffers in Pakistan was far more impressive in contrast to Venezuela where they had to resort to actual kinetic action, whereas the Mir Bajwas of Pakistani colonial force laid down in prostration after a mere letter was sent their way by a third rate state department bhangi and overthrew the democratically elected government

Closest straight line distance between China and Venezuela:
~13,000km.

Closest straight line distance between Russia and Venezuela:
~9000km.

I honestly don't get those people who claim China or Russia could've intervened, when South America is outside of both military's power projection range.

Or those who claim this is a military humiliation for China or Russia when neither had any military presence in South America to begin with.

Arming Venezuela is also a moot point, since the power disparity between Venezuela and the US is so huge. China for instance would have to give Venezuela our entire network centric combat system to compete with the US. That includes but not limited to our entire air force assets and air defense network. Train Venezuela to use said systems.

This will take at least a decade, and by then. We may get a pro-US government coming to power in Venezuela and give everything we provided to the US.

Geopolitics is not about feelings, it's the demonstration of raw power, soft power or hard power only care about the realities on the ground.

If we leave the politics and other aspects of it aside - regardless of the relative feebleness of Venezuela's AD and AF - this was an impressive op to still break into the palace and get this guy.
First of all, the blatant theft by US, obviously, can't be ignored.

Most importantly, since the 80s, this, so called socialist regime in Venezuela, has done nothing to improve their populace and their defence capabilities. They were as inept as one can find. Hell, they didn't even throw so much as a rock at the general direction towards the orange king. This actually enhances my respect towards Iran, who inspite of having almost no adequate defence, kept hurling whatever they had in the face of inevitable arrival of the B-2s.

Still, you cannot attack another sovereign country in the manner the US has done. I don't think it will be that easy for the US. The Venezuelans won't comply as the Americans are hoping.

Right.
Starting to watch this and Larry Johnson is saying that. How Trump went from catching a so-called 'drug lord' to essentially 'nation building' is really some 'feature creep' as used in the software engineering terminology.

The US-led forces suffered a setback and China-led forces seized Seoul in an impressive show of force and tactics but the US-led forces regrouped in Pusan and recovered South Korea from China-led forces. Both camps fought well but American achievement is more impressive because it is in the communist backyard where communist forces are at their strongest. No distant power in the world could replicate American accomplishment in the Korean War. Not in the 1950s, not today.
Battles lost and won, China started at the very border and Yalu River and finished half way through Korea, this is a simple fact, no one can deny it.

There is old good barter trade or currency swap and it is happening slowly, soon it will emerge proper alternative not out of the betterment of trade but because of self preserving reasons, constant financial and security knife on throats of various states does that kind of thing.

For that, you would need a dominant power; currently, I do not see one besides the U.S., and China is untested. The barter system can only do so much.

smh, the DOJ hasn't publicly released any evidence linking Maduro to a drug cartel. So you declaring him a narcoterrorist is a claim unproven in a court of law. The US is in breach of international law and UN Charter. It leaves the door open for others to justify kidnapping of heads of state setting a dangerous precedence. Russia can justify kidnapping Zelensky. China can justify the same with Taiwanese leaders.
Taiwan Province of China is an internal affair of China. Taiwan Province is an inherent part of China's territory. The people of Taiwan are Chinese nationals, and they can return to their original homes in China.

Taiwan Province of China is a red line for China; Taiwan Province is not a bargaining chip.

The 8 million people of Taiwan have already impeached attempts to divide the country, with a vote of 60 to 51 having been passed. China will not give up the opportunity for the peaceful liberation of Taiwan.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has marked countries and institutions that interfere in China's internal affairs, including Japan, Australia, EU institutions, and some European countries.

If other forces do not heed the warnings of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I hope these countries will convert verbal support into practical action and immediately send troops to Taiwan Province of China.

The Chinese people support such actions, as they are beneficial to China's peaceful reunification. Unfortunately, I have not seen the United States, Japan, Australia, or some European countries send troops to the South China Sea.

LONDON

France's foreign minister on Saturday said that the US military operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro violates the principles of international law on the use of force.

On Maduro’s rule, Jean-Noel Barrot said that by seizing power from the Venezuelan people and depriving them of their fundamental freedoms, Maduro "inflicted a grave violation on their dignity and on their right to self-determination."

On the US social media company X, he said that France has consistently committed itself, notably through its mediation efforts, to upholding respect for the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people, whose voice must prevail.

However, Barrot pointed out the need to act in line with international law.

"The military operation that led to the capture of Nicolas Maduro contravenes the principle of non-use of force that underpins international law," he wrote.

He said: "France recalls that no lasting political solution can be imposed from the outside and that sovereign peoples alone decide their own future."

Barrot also warned that the growing number of violations of this principle by nations entrusted with the primary responsibility of permanent UN Security Council membership will have "serious consequences" for global security, sparing no one.

"France is preparing for this, but cannot bring itself to accept it," he said, adding that France reiterates its commitment to the UN Charter, which must continue to guide the international action of states, "always and everywhere."

French far-right National Rally (RN) leader Jordan Bardella criticized Maduro over "dictatorship" and "endless economic crisis," but said respect for international law and the sovereignty of states" cannot be applied selectively."

"The forcible overthrow of a government from the outside cannot constitute an acceptable response, only exacerbating the geopolitical instability of our time," he wrote on X.

Bardella said France must draw lessons from its strategic and geopolitical vulnerability, adding that it is vital to pursue a resolute effort to rearm the country, strengthen its industrial and military capabilities, and rebuild a diplomatic network "weakened by (President) Emmanuel Macron."

"At this juncture, we can only call for the Venezuelan people to be given the floor as soon as possible, so that they can emerge from this major crisis through a free, transparent, and fair democratic process," he said.

Earlier Saturday, Venezuela’s government accused the US of attacking civilian and military installations in multiple states, and declared ‌a national ‌emergency.

On his social media platform Truth Social, US President Donald Trump confirmed the "large scale" strike, adding that Maduro and his wife were "captured and flown out of the country."

The attacks came after months of growing US pressure on Maduro, who Washington accuses of being involved in drug trafficking. The Venezuelan leader had denied the claims and expressed readiness for talks.

Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said they were "unaware" of Maduro's whereabouts, demanding the Trump administration provide "proof of life” of the president.

That book is a subjective take on the Korean War. China does have impressive showings in the Korean War as China managed to preserve North Korea and China-led forces reached Seoul but you do not seem to acknowledge American accomplishment in the Korean war. The US managed to preserve South Korea in the communist backyard where communist forces are at their strongest.

Between November 1950 and the end of fighting in June 1953, China launched six major offensives against UN forces in Korea. The most important of these began on April 22, 1951, and was the largest Communist military operation of the war. The UN forces put up a strong defense, prevented the capture of the South Korean capital of Seoul, and finally pushed the Chinese back above the 38th parallel. After China's defeat in this epic five-week battle, Mao Zedong and the Chinese leadership became willing to conclude the war short of total victory. China's Battle for Korea offers new perspectives on Chinese decision making, planning, and execution; the roles of command, political control, and technology; and the interaction between Beijing, Pyongyang, and Moscow, while providing valuable insight into Chinese military doctrine and the reasons for the UN's military success.

It is logical and honorable to accept all facts. This war also took place in the 1950s. The technology and options that exist today are different. While China have developed an impressive military force, the US have more operational exposure and experience and it is valuable.

There are many indicators if one merely opens their eyes, from the $40 trillion debt to endless trillions wasted in endless wars abroad. Meanwhile physical health, democratic metrics, infrastructure, mental health all continue to decline.
Even the mighty US military is at the mercy of Chinese generosity when it comes to critical supply chains.

Economically the zionist oligarchy has hollowed it out from inside and it cannot compete with China in 5 out of 6 key technologies.

France is already prepared to participate in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Do you think it is a good choice for France to provoke China?

If France has the capability, it could send the 'Charles de Gaulle' aircraft carrier battle group to dock in China's Taiwan Province.

We hope for this. Chinese people do not like unjust wars. If France interferes in China's internal affairs, all problems will be solved.
