Russia’s FESCO Ships Vietnamese Autos To Kazakhstan

RUIn signs of Russia’s growing maritime shipping influence in Asia, FESCO Transportation has arranged the intermodal delivery of the first batch of automobiles from Vietnam to Kazakhstan via Vladivostok.
The company has said, adding, “Containers with passenger cars assembled in Vietnam were sent from Haiphong port via the FESCO Vietnam Direct Line maritime service to Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VMTP, part of FESCO).” After arriving in the Far East, the cargo was placed on flat cars and sent by rail to Almaty.”
The total duration of the intermodal transportation was 27 days. The train with 122 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) arrived at the destination station on March 24.
FESCO plans to develop regular shipments of automobiles from Vietnam to Kazakhstan, including using direct land routes through China.
German Maslov, FESCO’s deputy general director, said, “In the future, we plan to make such shipments regular, and we are also working on the possibility of transportation to Uzbekistan and Russia. For this, FESCO has all the necessary assets and competencies.”
FESCO manages terminal complexes in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Vladivostok, and Kaliningrad and has a container fleet of over 200,000 TEU and nearly 15,000 flat cars. The group’s fleet includes more than 30 vessels, which operate primarily on the company’s own shipping lines.
Vietnam’s automotive industry is a significant player in international trade, with a diverse range of vehicles exported to various countries. Vietnam’s automotive exports are driven by companies like THACO, Hyundai Thanh Cong, and VinFast, which are expanding their export capabilities to new markets.
These companies not only export vehicles but also invest in developing specialized vehicles tailored to specific industries and popular urban electric vehicles.
