Visit of Takaichi this weekend
Most likely she will scold China for its military buildup as reason for the new Japanese arms exports policy. for Vietnam we may get some Japanese military stuff via Japanese gov assistance, and for Australia, she wants to sell warships and submarines. Win win.

You mean the Aussies first said they were going to give subs contract to Jap because they were very impressed with Jap sub new tech, but instead they actually gave the subs contract to France because French subs were more suitable, and then they tore up the French contract and gave the nuke sub contract to their relatives Yanks and British instead, haha.

Before China's rise, the west was very hostile to Japan.

Not only the plaza accord in the 1980s, but I did also remember that they were hostile toward the Japanese products (like Toyota and Playstation) in even in the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Now, they no longer act hostile to Japan because Japan is no longer a tech powerhouse that could threaten them.

Japan has been a lapdog of US since WW II. The Japs always kiss up to the Yanks no matter what. In the 1980 and 90s, just some American consumers were hostile to Japanese because Americans were afraid Japs were going to buy up American landmarks and lands, and Japanese products were flooding US markets. The states between Japan and US are always having much closer relation than that of China and US.

Thai people are angry.
While foreign leaders, who visit Vietnam, are transported by Vietnamese cars, Thai gov uses Chinese cars.
The most embarrassing event, Thai prime minister uses a Chinese car, serves himself as car driver to Wang Yi.
That’s unthinkable in Viet Nam.

NDAChain (Vietnam’s national blockchain)

Vietnam chooses Indonesia as the first partner to test the blockchain technology. In the future we may do money transactions and other secret messaging to Indonesia without the US, China and other ears ever know it.

On a side note, SK president and his spouse visited Thanh Long citadel during the visit. The citadel was rebuilt on ruins of a Chinese fortress, initially constructed during the Tang.
The citadel served as government seat of independent Vietnam and as victory monument over imperial China.

Hopefully Takaichi doesn’t want to visit the site. The Chinese may feel it as provocation.
