Tiger Woods' company, TGR Design, is designing a golf course for the large-scale Vinhomes Green Paradise development project by the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup in Ho Chi Minh City's Can Gio district. The project is planned as a luxury marine ecological urban area, and the golf course is intended to be an 18-hole links-style course.

Vietnamese conglomerate Thaco has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem to localize the production of locomotives and carriages for urban metro and high-speed railway projects.

The deal was inked in the context of Vietnam accelerating plans for urban metro lines and the gigantic North–South high-speed railway. It was signed on Thursday by Hyundai Rotem CEO Lee Yong-bae and Thaco chairman Tran Ba Duong in Seoul.

Accordingly, Hyundai Rotem will transfer core technologies and support Thaco in manufacturing locomotives and carriages for urban metro and high-speed railway projects under a Vietnamese brand.

The partnership extends beyond vehicle assembly, covering a full technology ecosystem including rolling stock, signal control, electro-mechanical (E&M) systems, maintenance, operations management, and repair services.

The move is expected to help Thaco build a domestic rail supply chain, cut project costs, and meet international standards.

Thaco plans to develop a rail industrial complex on a 786-hectare site within its automotive and supporting industries zone in Binh Chi ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The complex will include rolling stock production lines, a closed-loop test track, and one of Vietnam’s largest rail maintenance hubs.

The deal follows a series of engagements in June-August, including Thaco’s meetings with Hyundai Rotem executives in South Korea and a memorandum signed at the Vietnam–Korea Economic Forum witnessed by Party General Secretary To Lam.

Beyond manufacturing, Thaco has proposed investing more than VND1.56 quadrillion ($59.18 billion) in the planned North-South high-speed railway.

The company said it is prepared to hold at least 51% equity, including a direct contribution of about VND312 trillion ($11.84 billion). The remaining capital would be financed via domestic and foreign loans with government guarantees and long-term interest support.

That’s a news among 1,000 news in Viet Nam everyday nobody is interested of. What’s the point posting an article about a guy killing someone or stealing a rice sack? I only post here news I think people are interested of.

This case is pretty big in Vietnam, especially among younger people. For your information, his name had already been circulating online and he was being called a prime suspect by these young folks long before he was officially detained.

Minor issue. This is merely an isolated criminal incident and not significant enough to have international repercussions.

In any country with strict controls on firearms and explosives, public safety will not be too bad. Isolated criminal incidents will not have any impact on the international community, nor will they dampen tourists' enthusiasm.

What you said doesn't really connect to what I was talking about. I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make here. And this isn't some niche topic either. It's pretty well-known among younger generations. If you chose to ignore it or avoid certain sources like I have at times, fine. But saying you have never heard of it, especially if you actually look for news, even from obscure sources, is a pretty surprising miss.

Nobody is interested of that. Unless this guy is a mass murder or something that makes international headline. if you search news on robbery, murder, etc. you find plenty of cases. You seriously think I should post in on this thread?

From where you're accessing the internet, the language you use to search, and the way you post things here, the algorithm will always expose you to far more of this than a regular person in Vietnam.

Yes I know at least 2 VinFast showrooms here in Germany I had been there. Majority of Germans, Chinese don’t speak English, either, same for at least 100 other countries. User data are stored on domestic servers as per local data protection laws, same in Vietnam.
