Durian Wars: Vietnam Set to Overtake Thailand in Chinese Market Within Three Years​

After commencing formal exports to China in 2020, Vietnam’s durian exports reached $3 billion in 2024. In just three years, its market share in China soared from 0% to over 40%.

No. I don't think many people enjoy Durian. Because it has intense smell, besides we already have something similar like jackfruit so the Durian frenzy haven't reached the shores yet.

Durian is a tropical fruit, and jackfruit is a subtropical fruit. They are not of the same kind, and the taste is also very different.

So are these subtropical fruits very common in India? Is there any planting?

Caught the habit of having chickoo shake from UAE. The Pakistani family run cafe did serve them as a signature stuff back in the day. I didn't think it was popular in Pakistan as well until then. The UAE sun was brutal.

I asked AI, there is a small amount of planting in Guangdong Province of China, Vietnam also exports a small amount of this fruit to us. However it did not enter the area where I am. Perhaps it is a new fruit that has just appeared in China.

As for apples, it is the main fruit variety produced in China. We export apples to the world.
