Vietnam is the world’s second biggest Wolfram or Tungsten producer. The metal belongs to the hardest metals in the periodic table, it has the highest melting temperature of all metals. it is very dense, extremely resistant to heat and wear.
In military applications the metal is widely used in aircraft, tanks and armor piercing projectiles.

I see. I read that the psi inside the chamber of the 125 mm artillery barrel can be from 70,000 to 90,000 psi. Does that mean we can produce diesel engine block for automotive now?

Engine block (or casing), for most cases, are made from cast iron. For large engines, it can be made from welded steel and for small engines, it can be made from aluminum alloys.

Cast iron is iron mixed with carbon, with C content of at least 2% . So basically any steel furnace can produce cast iron, including Hoa Phat.

And the casing of an average diesel engine, for example, 100 - 300 HP, in my opinion, is not so difficult to cast, but it needs precision tools and highly-skilled workers to machine.

The general consensus throughout the years is that we are not able to cast the steel that is strong enough to produce the diesel engine for long lasting use. Producing the engine i believe is the easy part, producing the metal that can withstand the psi, heat, wear and tear for the engine to last long is the most difficult part. Nobody wants to buy an engine that last a few months vs importing one from Japan that can last a decade.
