Vietnamese metal company Vinmetal signs a contract with Danieli for construction and technology transfer in making steel rails for HSR and urban railway. The new factory will produce 700,000 tons of special steel a year.
The Italian company belongs to world leaders in metallurgy.

VinGroup subway construction company goes into overdrive. The company will build 5 Hanoi subways simultaneously with 100 TBMs.
Cost: $35 billion
Completion: 2030
Train sets reportedly come from Alstom with local production. TBMs likely from China, Korea or Japan possibly with local assembly and production, as well.
