An unprecedented food crisis is unfolding in the Philippines after the government suddenly decided to stop importing rice from Vietnam, its traditional partner and largest rice supplier for decades, and switch to Cambodia, citing cheaper prices.

However, what Filipinos received were bags of poor quality rice, some of which were unusable, sparking a wave of anger across the country of more than 110 million people.

Vietnamese and Chinese are culturally too similar that always creates friction. Thailand is different. different thinking, another universe. people tend to go to places where they can discover different cultures, different thing, not similar stuffs.
even if we one day develop same or better tourism infra than Thailand, I don’t see we will surpass the Thai in absolute numbers.
Not necessarily. The countries that most number Chinese tourists visit are Confucian oriented countries such as South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Singapore or countries that have large Chinese communities or influences such as Thailand and Malaysia. That is if the places are also good for tourism too.

I mean what exotic is more interesting.
yes of course, also, sometimes it’s nice to see same people same foods. I sometimes go to Paris 13.quarter where most Vietnamese (and Chinese) live. Pho, Bun bo hue, Banh xeo, banh mi, etc. are much better than in Germany. and cheaper. chinese cakes, grilled ducks, sausages, dried fruits are good. very recommended.
I pack all stuffs into my car, and voila, drive back home.
