Apple Taps China’s BYD to Build HomePod with Screen, Tabletop Robot in Vietnam​

According to South China Morning Post, Apple is expanding its smart home manufacturing capabilities in Vietnam, entrusting Chinese company BYD with final assembly, testing, and packaging of its next-generation home devices. The new product lineup includes a HomePod-style smart display and a motorized tabletop robot.

The HomePod display is now slated for a spring 2026 launch, while the tabletop robot—featuring a 9-inch display on a movable arm—is targeted for around 2027. The devices will rely on LCD panels from Tianma, and despite the shift in production, they will still be subject to U.S. tariffs on imports from Vietnam. [South China Morning Post]

Yes but technically same same
Honestly working, living in Japan isn’t for me. Almost same here in Germany, if you are single you work to death with no joy, no fun, eating alone, watching alone television in your flat. So why moving to Japan in the first place, with less money, longer work hours?
In addition Japanese language is a huge challenge.
I randomly discovered this video. A scottish girl grew up in Hanoi speaks almost perfect Viettic.
