Vietnamese electric car maker VinFast Auto Ltd announced Monday its preliminary vehicle deliveries for the first quarter of 2025. The company delivered 36,330 EVs globally in the first quarter of 2025 (1Q25) , representing a 296 percent increase year-over-year.

VinFast also announced it delivered 44,904 e-scooters and e-bikes in 1Q25, representing a 473 percent increase year-over-year.

Underpinning its commitment to meeting escalating demand for green mobility, VinFast is accelerating the development of its global manufacturing footprint. The Company anticipates the operationalization of new production facilities in Indonesia, India, and Ha Tinh (Vietnam) in line with its strategic global expansion roadmap.

Maybe a point in trade negotiations with Trump, the psycho.
the company completes the construction of the US plant in North Carolina, earlier than planned.

the total production rate will reach 1 million cars a year.

Hyundai and VinFast started building their plants around the same time, but VinFast was never serious about actually establishing a real manufacturing presence in the US. Vietnam has no leverage to demand anything from the US.

but time has changed I think.
the company has learned the lesson.
the first cars were poor received because of poor quality, poor driving computer, poor battery.
the new models have received much better reception. better fittings, better driving software, better battery performance.
