Walmart just leveled with Americans: China won’t be paying for Trump’s tariffs, in all likelihood you will

Its a flawed theory that china can somehow find alternative markets in global south by doing captive investments in those countries.

CCP invested trillions inside China and still chinese economy depends on exports not domestic consumption like USA or India if USA goes serious and EU also does the same Chinese economy will collapse hence Giant North Korea

In essence what makes a country prosperous?

It is technology and access to natural resources.

China can trade technology for access to natural resources from "Global South" and countries like Russia. It is coming close to where western markets will be irrelevant to its prosperity.

In the past and somewhat true still it needed US dollars to buy western technology like semiconductors, machine tools and jet planes. By 2030 it will be completely self-sufficient.

Irrelevant post,

China has overcapacity where its own population is not the biggest market it depends on markets mainly US and EU to export and no global south cant replace huge consumer markets of US or EU.

The day exports are limited the overcapacity or over production needs to be stopped hence job losses, revenue losses and economic slowdown takes place and no Govt stimulus can save it.

You have no idea how economics works.

It would help you to learn from those who are more knowledgeable than you.

I explained to you the basics of the modern economy and you still are unable to understand or carrying on with your narrative.

lol I am pretty sure you dont have any economic education unlike me shows from your post 🤣🤣🤣

Vietnam manufacturing success is based on Import from China and export to USA
View attachment 83667
I can see the US go after vietnam tho then china will move elsewhere. If not Vietnam, then Bangladesh, Thailand,Malaysia, Brazil,Mexico,Peru, or Indonesia, etc ..
That's exactly my point.
USA's tariffs will be circumvented.
But a prolonged effort will eventually shift the manufacturing industry out of China.

60% tariffs on China and 10% tariffs on ROW will lead to more factories relocating out of China
China doesn't need USA. China is already giving goods to USA on loans. China has nothing to gain by giving additional loans.

USA, being on huge trade deficit, is incapable of selling anything useful to anyone else in return for the imports. USA is not capable of producing all those goods by itself and there is no one else who will give them on loans. No country will agree to simply hoard hundreds of billions of US dollars every year like China does as such piling up of dollars is useless for anyone.

I am not sure why people think in 2025 when Trump comes into office, China still needs USA for its economic survival?

Some are biased but others still think we are in 2005!

China never needed USA, even in 2005. China has always considered west as its enemy. It tried opening up from 1979 to 1989 but west refused to sell any high tech equipments like fighter jets or semiconductor tools and incited Tiananmen square riots. China has never trusted west ever again and has ensured that it has no critical dependency on west.

China was always having export surplus for the last 50+ years. All of this was because China hardly imports anything, has huge natural resource base with a huge workforce and sells goods at very low cost which makes it impossible for anyone to not buy. West tried to sanction China in 1990s but it made Chinese goods capture non western markets like India, middle east, Africa etc reducing western influence. So, west opened up to China to take advantage of its cost competitiveness so that West can blend in its expensive items like semiconductors with low cost Chinese packaging, assembly and support materials to capture markets of non western countries.

I think they could have seriously slowed down China's development 20 years ago by restricting access to western technologies like semiconductors and aeroplanes etc.

Russia also could have been bribed to stay away from China as it wanted to join Nato but was rebuffed.

Trump and USA tried their worse with semiconductor and trade war back in the first Trump term and now they have also annoyed Russia by launching a proxy war on them over Ukraine.

Apart from those with agendas, a lot of others have this "brainwashing" from the west where they subconcisouly see west as superior/strong and China as inferior/weak.

USA banned semiconductors to China in 1990-91 but China developed their own semiconductor which was slightly inferior but still useable. USA realised that sanctions can only hinder China by 3-4 years at most and hence lifted the sanctions. Even then it didn't supply critical lithography equipments or aero engines. It only sold commercial planes as that was anyways sold by Russia otherwise.

As for bribing Russia, that was impossible. Without admitting Russia into NATO and giving a respectable position, Russia wouldn't budge by carrots like "potential future NATO membership". USA would never allow Russia to be in NATO as that would mean direct competition to USA hegemony. Russia being a major defence power with huge resource base, would be able to gain leadership from USA within NATO.

The brainwashing is nothing but white supremacy feeling which makes them look down upon others. But it is only in their minds and doesn't affect how the world actually works

Sad thing is they think they are forming unbiased opinions but history and the environment they live in has formed it for them.

China was supposed to have been destroyed economically years ago after Trump came in, Hezbollah defeated after Nasrallah was killed in late September and Iran cowed as there is nothing to stop the "super doopa" Zio-US F-35 from roaming at will over Iran.

Anyway we digress from the topic on hand.

15% of China exports goes to USA. Don't tell me there are markets for 15% that goes to USA. Pakistan/Bangladesh do not add up.

Trump's mistake is that he is not co-ordinating policy with Europe and Japan

Why does China want to export to USA? China exports $600 billion & imports $200 billion. China is getting treasury bonds in lieu of the $400 billion which just keeps accumulating endlessly over the years. China has a total surplus of $800+ billion a year and it is accumulating to be over $10 trillion over the years.

This means China is giving $400 billion on loans to USA every year. China has nothing to lose if it stops giving loans. China is not selling but loaning to USA. This means China has nothing to lose if it stops giving loans
