USA is great, till you turn 50 and remain middle /lower class which is case for 90% of Americans. Then medical bills will bankrupt you and you would wish to have been born in Europe.

My thoughts.
The USA is a good country to visit on a timed basis like a holiday once you get past the security related items when you travel there from random inspections before your flight to random talks for 6hrs, in tiny rooms with the same questions again, again, again ...
The USA is a beautiful country geographically, so many sites to see and it is a good country to visit to see things and the weather is good (but make sure you have got good medical cover insurance before you go!).
The living space that people for their homes have is very good compared to the UK, houses are 2-3 larger for the same price (though made out of wood so a limited shelf life of how long that house is good for ) but having to drive somewhere to do the milk run is tiresome(different lifestyle of bulk shopping over there to compensate for that though).
However, it is not a country I would want to live in. The quality of food is poor, just look at the ingredients list of American food - it is inherently designed to make you ill. Medical cover will bankrupt you either by the cost of medical insurance, or the cost if you don't and the quality of cover is poor itself of what "is covered or not" on your policy. I have family there, and it cost my niece close to $20k to just have a baby (she need more help than normal, but still!).
Property taxes are a killer when you move to retirement mode, they are high and never stop (that is why there is such a tiny home culture in the USA, look it up).
The tipping culture is out of control, I won't go into all my experiences but everyone everywhere expects a tip for jobs that they are paid to do! ( And please, pay waitresses a salary - that shit is not acceptable !!! ).
You have no employment rights worth anything, enough said.
I have family there, and have travelled there many many times (both family, and lots of business trips both east/west cost and places in the middle) and spoke to my family about their setup and how things work over there, and yes it is good for a holiday and people are seeing that, but don't get too caught up in that as under the surface, there are deep issues of how people are treated and for someone raised in the "socialist" left leaning UK, they are to me not good ( and yes, I don't plan on moving there so it is not a real problem before the thought police step in !!! ).
If you have money, earn a lot, then the USA is one of the better places to live given all that you money can get you, but if not, then it is a struggle.
If you are born and raised in Pakistan(or other developing country), and then move to the USA then it may look very good because you don't know any better and the same if you are born there, but most Europeans ( both the UK and mainland Europeans ) tend to have the same view as I have said, as their view it from the same social "contract" of state vs people perspective from my conversations.
If you decide to go - do enjoy it, it is a beautiful country, the size of everything is overwhelming and confusing at times, people are very nice, there is lots to see and the weather is very good(and do go to Buc-ees to see what a clean toilet looks like in a service station!). I won't downplay the USA as a place to visit ever, it is very good !!! Just make sure you take a big thick wad of $5 bills in the biggest money clip you can get hold of, because everyone wants a tip- breakfast cost is $10, and a $5 tip for the waitress as well then ! ( I once went to Austin airport to fly out to NYC, I took a bus from the car park to the terminal at most a 3minute ride, and people were giving the driver tips !!!! I decided to stop and give him a dirty look because the way I see it, he had a salaried job ... and yes, he returned a dirty look back... ).

I am expecting a lot of comments from the American firsters when they wake up - lol, and while I don't live in the USA, I have spent a lot of time there and lived there for weeks on work visa setups on a temporary basis. I have lived in the Scandinavian countries, so I get a nice compare and contrast between the two setups.
