I understand this fully
This is Punjabi for sure
Bet you can understand this too![]()
Maybe it is meant for those of us who are unlettered, and know nothing of culture and learning, and piety. The English sub-titles for non-Urdu speakers was a very kind touch, and opens up a world of wisdom for the blind, deaf and dumb.I know this “zubani” since 2008 maybe… both Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa.. this is a shortened version and with time I may have forgotten some of it but still remember most of the Shikwa and the reply. I also fully understand the meaning of it so don’t need a translation for it
This masterpiece:
When Iqbal wrote the first poem of “Shikwa”, complaining to God. He wrote it in 1908-09… people declared him a Kaafir. If he had written in 2009, he would have likely been assassinated in the name of Blasphemy. But it was 1909 and people were more tolerant.Maybe it is meant for those of us who are unlettered, and know nothing of culture and learning, and piety. The English sub-titles for non-Urdu speakers was a very kind touch, and opens up a world of wisdom for the blind, deaf and dumb.
