Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, of Pakistani origin, was formally knighted by King Charles today at Buckingham Palace in recognition of his political and public service.
Sword, title, and the grandeur of the royal setting were all part of the ceremony.
The 54-year-old Labour politician, now officially Sir Sadiq, recently made history by winning a third consecutive term as Mayor of London.
It’s a remarkable journey—his father was a bus driver, yet his son now stands among Britain’s most influential figures.
Only in the Western world can individual talent and determination be truly recognized, regardless of background. Had Sadiq Khan remained in Pakistan, chances are he might have followed in his father’s footsteps, driving a bus, or he would have stood in line for the Benazir Income Support Scheme or Maryam Nawaz's free flour and rice scheme rather than receiving a knighthood.
In Pakistan politics remains the playground of the elite, where merit takes a back seat to privilege.

Oh paee don't fall for the hype on dat thread. True da iranis taken a hit, but its not catastrophic or anything.
They had decades to disperse/ hide go deep with their nuke/ missile/ drone infra.
