Where is Pakistan headed in the China-Türkiye relationship?

It's funny. China and Turkey have good relations. This beef only exists on the internet between nationalists. It should remain there.

As is well known, Chinese and Turkish netizens have recently been engaged in a fierce war of words on Twitter. Thanks to the efforts of the PDF management team, this war of words has not spilled over into this forum. I would like to express my gratitude to the management team!
Since these are merely grassroots actions by internet users, I do not believe they warrant in-depth discussion.

But !!!

A few hours ago, the official Chinese state media outlet China News Service published an article lashing out at Türkiye! Link.

Turkey has recently introduced two new sets of textbooks that brazenly incorporate the territories of several nations into a fabricated concept of "Turkestan"—a purported "unified Turkic civilizational realm"—which even extends to include China’s Xinjiang, Gansu, and Qinghai provinces. While extremist factions in Turkey harbor grand ambitions rooted in "Pan-Turkism," their historical narrative crumbles under close scrutiny. The ideologies of "Pan-Islamism" and "Pan-Turkism" first emerged just as the Ottoman Empire—coinciding with Zuo Zongtang’s campaign to reclaim Xinjiang for China—was mired in a sovereign debt crisis. Subsequently, the Ottoman Empire pursued these "Pan-" agendas and became embroiled in World War I, ultimately leading to its defeat and collapse. Enver Pasha, a fervent proponent of "Pan-Turkism," fled to Central Asia, where he was eventually killed by the Soviet Red Army. Today, as "Erdoganomics" lies in ruins, Turkey’s "Pan-Turkic" ambitions continue to swell. Is history destined to repeat itself?

I do not wish to comment on Turkey itself; there is no point in doing so. That would only lead to an endless exchange of insults on this forum.
The purpose of this thread is to examine the choices Pakistan faces within the context of this relationship.

Chinanews.com is a website operated by China News Service (CNS), an official news agency of the Chinese government. Although it may not possess the same level of renown or influence as Xinhua News Agency—the other major state-run news outlet—it remains an unequivocally official entity.

From one perspective, the upper echelons of the Chinese government currently wish to avoid escalating the situation, which is why they have utilized Chinanews.com to disseminate relevant information. However, should this form of "low-key protest" fail to elicit the desired response, official channels may escalate the matter further. This represents a pattern of conflict characterized by an upward, spiraling escalation.

The dilemma, however, lies with Pakistan—a nation that maintains very close ties to both China and Turkey—as it must navigate the delicate challenge of how to respond should the conflict escalate further.

To reiterate:
Our primary focus is on Pakistan’s reaction to this situation, rather than on the underlying issues between China and Turkey themselves.
Don't let internet trolling get in the way of reality. Reality is Turkey and China are far enough away from each other to have any sort of conflict that may naturally arise among neighbors...like territorial disputes for example...
...don't let petty differences get in the way of trade and mutually beneficial ways to get along. Nobody is saying that these two nations must hold hands and sing together...but just enough of a neutral relation(even if not allies) for both to benefit from trade and business. China is a practical nation(as evident by its trade with even nations it has competing interests with...like US, Japan, India)...more can be achieved with peace than war.

Size and overall national strength aren't in the same league. An equal comparison is pointless. I'll leave it at that.

China and Turkey have bad relations. As an Indian, your comment doesn’t reflect reality.

I suggest you learn more about the world before commenting.

Turkey likes to talk about xinjiang a lot especially erdogan. That is interferring in another countrys internal domain which can not be tolerated.

It would be akin to China calling for a kurdish independence in Southern Turkey however China never does this.

Never the less it is all just words and no one can take actions to harm the other.

He is attempting to create a pan-Turkic empire that stretches from Turkey through Central Asia states to Chinese provinces in the west including Xinjiang. Lol, they want to relive the glory of Ottoman empire that is not possible now in its original territories.

He is delusional because Central asia is firmly in the hands of Russia and China militarily, politically and economically.

Turkey does not even share a border with central asia. They have a lot of issues in their own neighbourhoods and their economy inflation is very very bad

But erdogan just likes to talk a lot and China doesn't but the level of threat is zero

We remained neutral on that one X.

If anything Chinese actually won the meme war 😂

That said we sided with none.. simply because of the things other users have already mentioned.

That said it was childish to say the least.

Turks v Chinese
French v Japanese
Saudis v Argentina
Pak V jeets 😂
The Xiongnu and Turks are branches of Chinese civilization, and even have blood ties. Chinese people certainly cannot tolerate a group of Greeks impersonating them.

There are numerous historical records in China that clearly state that the Xiongnu royal family and aristocratic groups were aristocrats who fled to the north after the downfall of the Xia Dynasty. They were Han Chinese! The Xiongnu are the grassland branch of Chinese civilization! Of course, this only refers to the aristocratic class of the Xiongnu, and the bloodline of the lower class herdsmen of the Xiongnu is mixed, making it impossible to determine their origin.

After the fall of the Xiongnu, the Turks rose up on the grasslands. The Turks were originally a branch of the Xiongnu, possibly descendants of Xiongnu nobles or subordinate tribes. But the Turks are clearly the inheritors of the Xiongnu and also the inheritors of the grassland branch of Chinese civilization.

Pakistan maintains relations with both sides, refrains from taking sides, and acts in accordance with its own interests. China conducts its affairs at its own pace and in line with its own principles; it does not ask others to choose sides and respects each country's independent choices. Such is the mindset befitting a major power.

Obviously the Uygur issue is what has the Chinese in fits. They fear a revived Turkiye could one day stretch towards the occupied region of eastern Turkestan.

Things like the Mecca Pact only compound this anxiety. Personally I think its unwarranted, Turks uniting and the wider Muslim world uniting is not about challenging anyone, its about protecting the sovereignty and dignity of the Muslim world.

A united Turkic/Muslim world could stand up alone against any non-Muslim transgressor be it Zionist dominated USA or A Jewish(Karl Marx) ideologically inspired Communist China.

What Muslims cannot afford to do is remain divided from one another, that has been terrible for all Muslims involved.

Face reality: Xinjiang has been an inseparable part of China since ancient times. "East Turkistan" has never existed as a sovereign state. China's sovereignty is non-negotiable. Trying to weaponize a term coined by 19th-century colonialists to challenge China's territorial integrity — know your place.

This is the online troll fest war, and it won't even affect a bit on the real world geopolitics.

The decision makers in China are pragmatic people who based their judgment on the real world physic-based materialism.

Yep, China doesn't like its own integral territories being claimed by other entities by using the non-existent historical context.

Overall, I don't think the Chinese government gonna take the online troll war seriously.

Trying to challenge China today? Maybe check your own weight first.
