Pakistanis have always been confused. whether to associate themselves with islam or pre islam which was hindu. the need to find an approved history that will go well with approved modern pakistan is tough when the past is undeniably hindu. so what is left is to find links which are not compatible with modern india. to find a hindu heritage which is not like modern "India" is the goal of a thinking pakistani.
