Why Did Uzbekistan Choose China's J-10C Over Russia's Su-30SM?

While Azerbaijan's purchase of Chinese equipment suggests a neutral posture, it does not mean they are free from Russian influence; they remain indirectly tied to Moscow. Azerbaijan theoretically had the option to acquire an older fleet of American F16s, a move the US would support to station assets against Russia. However, the powerful Armenian lobby in the US Congress would fiercely oppose any major defense sales to Baku.

1 - China has the manufacturing bandwidth to deliver on time. Something Russia is struggling with right now due to the war in Ukraine. ie look at delayed S400 deliveries to India.

2 - And, this is very important. China can deliver AEW&C / AWACS that fully integrate with the J10CE's to get the best out of the PL15E. Russia is struggling to manufacture AEW&C / AWACS right now.

3 - China can deliver high end systems like HQ-9B that can be integrated with the AEW&C / AWACS and J10CE that is fully fully integrated over datalinks, something that has failed to demonstrate with any of her systems to date.

4 - China can deliver air to air refuellers etc as well now.

The Uzbekistan military has been equipped with HQ-9B, HQ-12, HQ-7B and Chinese style surveillance radar systems, as well as Chinese style communication encryption systems, WingLoong-2， Carrying SAR synthetic aperture radar, infrared electro-optical pod, electronic countermeasure pod, command cabin system, Chinese training system, and so on.
