Education and focus on learning. and the other factor is Indians help eachother out, They form Teams of Indians, more than outsiders, keep money within their community. Whereas Pakistanis lack education focus and the biggest disadvantage is that they cut eachother growth.
Exactly this!

The good things said about Indians is all true to a large extent, but they collectively game the system and support each other, so there will be people contributing to the stats who have found a soft landing, it's been noticed by non Desi's in the tech sector.

Must be something deeply ingrained in Pakistanis where they don't do this at all 😂😂 a weird one actually.

BECAUSE OF SELECTIVE IMMIGRATION

It's not too difficult

If you had open immigration from India, Indians would turn any area or country into a utter slum no different to India

However if you select the educated top 1%-5% of 1.4 billion slum dwellers, and bring them over on skilled visas with work waiting then what do you think will happen?????
So you mean to say Pakistani and Bangladeshi are somehow not selected for abilities during migration somehow?

H1b visa holders and IIT graduates are not representative of the average Indian population. If they were, India wouldn't have a GDP per capita less than BD's and that of many other 3rd world developing countries.
So somehow Bangladeshi in America are representative of Bangladesh while Indians are not representative of Indians?

And about GDP per capita. Well... Why do you think GDP per Capita of say Argentina or Croatia is higher than China? Are they more developed than China? Or more .... intelligent than Chinese? And lets not even talk about Taiwan...

There is a basic reason. I will let you figure it out.

They do

That's why 👇

Well if all of them : Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indians are being selected for their abilities during the migration to US process, and still Indian are coming out on top, it naturally follows that Indians are doing way better and have way higher abilities than other two south asian communities.

Migration for Pakistani ,bangali, sri Lankans etc are a lot more mixed but the general trend of being better then the local population continues

As a result you can't compare this selective immigration policy for these populations to let's say Mexicans a proportion of whom are illegals

Basically the results are skewed for a variety of factors

With the main reality once again being, that if you had a open door policy with 1.4 billion state like India with it's issues of poverty, that you would swamp any destination with indians and the problems of India everything from communalism to street shiting would be transplanted to the new country

A selective immigration policy where you pick and choose migrants has been very successful

We can, however, compare them to say Pakistani. Or say Turkish. Or say Bangladeshi. All those countries also face same selective migration.

Why Indians are the highest earning ethnic group in US? Harsh Goenka explains

According to the latest US Census data, the Indians now have an average household earning of $123,700, i.e a little over ₹1 crore, PTI reported. The median earnings of the Indians there is nearly double the nationwide average of $63,922.

Industrialist Harsh Goenka has taken to Twitter to explain why Indians are earning the highest in the United States. In a tweet. he shared an infographic on median household income in the United States by ethnic group.

According to Goenka, Indians value good education and are the most educated ethnic group. He added that Indians work very hard along with being frugal in their habits. “We are smart. We are in IT, engineering and medicine- the highest paying jobs”. he tweeted.

The infographic has the US Census Bureau data of 2013-15 American Community Survey. It shows that the median household income of Indian-Americans stands at $100,000, which translates to ₹81.28 lakh as per the current exchange rate. The Chinese-Americans and Pakistani-Americans are lower on the list with median incomes of $69,100 and $66,200 respectively.

“Definitely proud of these Indians, many of whom are no longer Indian citizens but really sad about the fact that India has not been able to retain the likes of them - shouldn't we talk about this as well?” a Twitter user replied to Goenka's tweets.

Another user wrote, "Indians Mostly due to tech and doctors. Filipinos as well, doctors. So our international household in top two. Our kids 3 country trifecta. maybe even 4 or 5 since Spanish Filipino heritage and possibly British India"

Does household income change if the ratio of female participation in the workforce is different for each group?
I am assuming household income is the joint income, in cohabiting households, but individual income in a single household, and a mean average is created.
Surely if female participation in the labout force is different in various groups, that would colour the overall picture.
The reasons for female participation in the labour force are not relevant, but for statistical purposes, surely this is an important metric.
Do we have on any clarity on this issue?

So somehow Bangladeshi in America are representative of Bangladesh while...

No they are not. Most of them won the DV lottery (and their dependents/relatives). Generally the kind of people who go for DV (or any kind of lottery) are not very educated.

Only Bangladeshis in Bangladesh are representative of Bangladesh, and we are doing better than Indians in India.
