I do wonder what engines it is using, and how efficient they are and whether the design will allow for a different engine to be used.

I'm saying it first...I suggest PAF replace their Hercules with this!

The price is unknown.

But, the Y-20B is available for export. CATIC has already publicly displayed the Y-20BE.

According to assessments by foreign organizations, the early versions of the Y-20 transport aircraft (with D-30/WS-18 engines) cost between $160 million and $250 million.

China has not released any information regarding the price.

I would say it would be closer to C-130 than A400M. After all, China has its own dedicated strategic lifters (Y-20). This one could be a pure tactical one.

Do you see this new plane or the C919 fulfilling the roles I have outlined?

Pakistan Army does need at least 20 of such machines

I mean 20 is bare minimum level for a Army size of Pakistan

While the C130 can get some jobs done , but we do need to improve on this area , Transport capabilities

The most significant thing about that photo, is the not the number of Y-20's doing the Elephant work, but the fact that they all have the new WS-20 homegrown engines.
