Not at the moment.Any buyers of it so far?
Wha it’s the expected demand for the PLAAF, other military services, government use, and civilian use in China? Not at the moment.
The demand for PLA is too great, and the entire Y-20 series is supplied to PLA. XAC's current production capacity is still increasing, and it is estimated that it will take several years of hard production before considering export.
The main constraint on the export of the Y-20 is the engine.
The WS-20 version of the Y-20B has just been put into mass production. XAC needs to give priority to meeting the needs of the PLA before considering export.
China will not release relevant data.Wha it’s the expected demand for the PLAAF, other military services, government use, and civilian use in China?

A civilian model could be useful for government use in fighting wildfires and a civilian export model could help subsidize its use and have it adopted by foreign buyers in the freighter market.China will not release relevant data.
The demand of the PLA for the Y-20 series (transport aircraft, AEW&C, aerial refueling aircraft, etc.) will be a very large number.
So far, the Y-20 series has only been provided to the PLA and not to other institutions. ------ Only one Y-20 has been provided to research institutions, and this Y-20 has a non-military paint job.

But, at a Zhuhai Air Show, AVIC did exhibit a civilian version of the Y-20 model. This shows that it will enter the civilian market in the future.
However, if COMAC's development speed of related aircraft models exceeds that of the Y-20F, the authorities may also cancel the plan for the civilian version of the Y-20.

1. China has a dedicated aircraft for forest fire fighting and maritime rescue. The AG-600 amphibious aircraft. It is currently progressing very smoothly, has obtained an airworthiness certificate, and is about to start large-scale mass production.A civilian model could be useful for government use in fighting wildfires and a civilian export model could help subsidize its use and have it adopted by foreign buyers in the freighter market.
The number of Y-20 full series products will be very large, far more than 100.I assume China probably has a need for at least a hundred, considering the need to cover the Tibetan plateau, and larger equipment in use in the PLA.
Do you see an evenly mixed fleet of Y-9 and Y-20, or a preference by the PLAAF for a mostly Y-20 fleet in the cargo lift role? The USAF operates about 275 Jet Cargo freighters and 275 turbo prop cargo freighters. 31 E-3 AWACS, 97 E-2D Awacs and 600 tankers. If the PLAAF has even half this many aircraft, that would mean around 500 Y-20 aircraft and 500 Y-9 aircraft, allowing the PLA to be a “World Class Miitary” as outlined as the goal by 2049; able to operate globally, but not in the conflict involved way the US does.1. 2. AVIC is also one of the major shareholders of COMAC. The cooperation between them is very close. COMAC's various types of passenger aircraft have cargo versions. This market overlaps with the market of Y-20F. The difference is that COMAC is an international cooperation model, and Y-20F is a purely Chinese product. They are actually in an internal competition relationship. (This model is very common in Chinese state-owned enterprises.)

Y-20 is a universal platform. In addition to the transport aircraft, AEW&C, and aerial refueling aircraft we see now, we will see more different variants in the future.
1. Y-8/9 and Y-20 are transport aircraft platforms of different levels. They each have their own positioning and purpose and are not comparable.Do you see an evenly mixed fleet of Y-9 and Y-20, or a preference by the PLAAF for a mostly Y-20 fleet in the cargo lift role? how many Y20 in total now, 100?Highest number seen so far: Y-20B with serial number 20442 (should be the 12th aircraft)
