Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

So, you want international commerce to be left to the mercy of a bunch of rabid dogs whose only goal in life is to desperately seek paradise? Do you even have an idea of the extra cost they are placing on shipping? Ships are travelling around Africa burning millions of tons of extra fuel.
If you care so much about trade ask your idiotic president to stop threatening countries with tarrifs and threatening sanctions on other countries for trading with each other.

Can you explain, why, among all the Arab nations, only the Houthis have this intense suicidal support for Gaza? (I can't understand the videos). That is love over long distance (1300 miles) that the neighbors of Gaza don't seem to share.

Only one Congressman I can find speaking out against the bombing of Yemen.....

Trump and other US officials are also justifying the strikes by framing them as a way to protect global shipping, although critics are pointing out that the Red Sea being shut down has a minimal impact on the US.

“What the media won’t tell you is this shipping route is mainly used to get exports from Asia to Europe,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) wrote on X. “Its economic value to the United States is primarily in importing oil from the Middle East, but we can drill our own oil. Most US imports from Asia come via the Pacific.”

The military industrial complex demands about $50 billion per year in war. As soon as we quit spending $50b per year in Afghanistan, we started spending $50b per year in Ukraine. Watch where the next $50b per year goes when we stop sending it to Ukraine. The MIC is always hungry.

Rep. Thomas Massie

That is a very short-sighted thinking. If one of the large vessels gets hit and is disabled, that will choke the sea lanes. Also, what will happen to shipping in other narrow spots if the crazies figure anybody can hit these big ships for fun and profit?

First of all..all the Arab people close by and far from Gaza..they all support the Palestinians.. The Houthis have nothing really to lose..they are a Militia in Yemen..with some support from about 5 million Yemenis from their group.... Yemen per se has a total population of 40 million..

The video talks about The Houthis' support of Israel since 1948 when they've send around 45 000 Yemeni Jews to fight along with Israel against the Arab population.. and the video goes about the same story for many more years..
