I love how the Royal Navy showed an image of their one vessel launching missiles against targets yesterday as some coup de grac against the “rabid” rebels.

This is a mainly US effort, they have the most vessels in the region with the most assets doing the heavy lifting, the “multi-national” element of this effort is just honeyed words and warm air.

The entire region is a powered keg at the moment.

The powder keg is not the worrisome thing here. It is the Joe who is half asleep at the wheel.

I think the US just admitted that today's illegal strikes were unilateral, i.e. no other country participated in them.

Simply as a matter of military strategy. Small weapons deposits that are dispersed are simply impossible to destroy in a few large strikes.
A series of smaller airstrikes will not create deterrence. It will escalate and extend the conflict, which is in direct contrast to what the US claims its modus operandi in Yemen is

I would wait to see the next steps taken by both sides.

Well yesterday they said they finished their (illegal) bombing and the goal was to create deterrence

Then today they launched more strikes

So I think that's enough evidence to draw some initial conclusions

It is still too early for any conclusions but that is only my opinion.

How do sailors go missing? Did they fall off the ship?

Let's be honest, only Iran has the cojones and ability to sink those Navy ships. The issue is the response will probably be a full scale war with nukes (possibly)...which is why Iran will have to either rein back and wait to develop nukes, or go kamikaze on the west in the hope that it does some irreparable damage on US military in the region at a large expense. Thankfully, though, public opinion is not on the Western powers' side.
