Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

we should.

Houthis acknowledged they will not target USA ships

we get oil shipments from KSA, why should ordinary pak. pay the price, when Houthis themselves are letting USA ship go (who were bombing them not that long ago!)

further, if this crisi continues, Hazfeed Pasha, has told in an interview, prices of petrol will go to PKR 700!

I dont know about you, I cant survive the cost of this much inflation, this is not going to be a one time rise, it will change the scale of prices in Pak. (it is seismic event for Pak. economy)!

I hope you understand!
The cost of dead soldiers returning in coffins (killed by Arab Muslims) and its impact on the cohesion within the army and across the nation is far heavier than any temporary hardship resulting from expensive petrol. Period.

Its not the first time we faced this situation.
In 2003, Jamali/Mush faced a similar dilemma when Bush asked for PA troops to be deployed in Iraq. Some were enthusiastic back then as well to make quick bucks.

But thankfully better sense prevailed at the end as some could see how our National Army would have gotten divided along the confessional lines.

Same situation here. Even worse dare I say.

no ground troops, only drones and bombing!

on the flip side, what exaclty is your argument?

Houthis, should be free to blackmail us and our fragile economic interests?

of course, we should negotiate first, and if no ways are found, im sorry...

I dont have the money to afford electricy bills now why should I wait for the petrol to go over 550 PKR or 600 PKR, our state would collapse in 3 or 4 months!

there was a time, in 2018, when rupee depreciated badly after 2009. I used to think, is it possible that that dollar crosses 300 PKR and petrol price could go above 300?!!

turns out, it is not possible, it is stupid to think, it will not rise in short term!

Use Iranian links to make a deal directly with Houthies.
Dont let Saudis blackmail us.

good luck with that!

they both are not our friends, bec. of our stupid politicians and corrupt civil beau.!

1. constant rhetoric of IR being a majoosi stooge of CIA and KGB, have let IR into our biased way of making decisions. This has provided them an opportunity to hit our economic interests, even if we support them. Because, they know, we dont have the balls to decide whats in our favor!

2. KSA understand, when and how to lure, Pak. mindset!

in other words, might is the only way for Pak. to survive!

Im open to other theories as well, as mine is only understanding from my POV!

I cannot be 100% right or 100% wrong!

look at India, openly hate all muslims and supports zios, for that support they will get the oil at cheap prices...

so to protect our interests, we should do whats in our favor, as no IR or KSA will pay my bills! im sorry

Who is providing India the cheap oil? Aside from Russia.

Nigeria (now) and IR (was), it seems

but that is not the problem..

problem does not lie with the seller, buyer is sanctioned..

India was not sanctioned, bec it showed it needed the oil to survive and it simply did not care!

meanwhile in case of Pak. when it comes to Russian oil

1. we have sorry and lame excuses of no refineries to process Russian oil
2. are too afraid to buy IR oil bec. we will be sanctioned

firstly, both 1 and 2 are false, as there are refineries in other parts of the world which can in-directly sell us oil from alternate sources
and in the long term, we should have built up the right and relevant infrastructure to grow our economic strength and interests (turns out Pak. establishment are not interested in this!)

but our sorry establishment, has no balls to stand up for our interests!

they know how to buy dollar for themselves only!

This might be an existential moment for the Saudi economy.

The Saudi's need to change course on their policy towards Yemen. That is all that is required. We all know Saudi policy has been wrong to date and it has now run its course fully. Time for Saudi to accept this, and make peace and lift the blockade on Yemen etc.

Ah I see. Man corruption needs to be weeded out of our society, it's a plague everywhere.

no, it is beyond corruption.. it is so badly rooted, it is cheered

we do qurbani, which is not even mandatory under islam, openly on the roads and spend millions of rupees only to show off!

this is not corruption, this is something else, beyond ignorance!

in certain parts of the city where I used to live, it gets so dirty and stinky that people dont even go there for days, almost inaccessible

Pak. society is broken, but, it is in better shape than Indian, in some aspects only!

I must admit I don't know too much about the region, but I didn't realize it was this challenging. Seems like its also rooted in some societal or educational issues, not just political and leadership problems like we have here. That's unfortunate, I hope it gets better, not sure what's the remedy there tbh.

There are only a few possibilities here. Either this is originally a Chinese missile supplied to Iran, which Iran normally repaints, renames something like “Zulifiqar” and then presents as indigenous before passing it to the Houthis. Or Iran forgot to repaint this particular shipment before sending it. The third possibility is that the Houthis received the Iranian delivery but forgot to complete the usual paint and rebrand ceremony themselves.

Of course, we will now be told that the Houthis independently developed it inside a Yemeni cave using scrap metal, reverse engineering and the power of resistance.
Or China was secretly supporting Houthis
