Saudis claim that Houthis tried to target Makkah.
I bet it was inside job done by the Saudis themselves to gain symbathy and support of Muslims around the world especially after the heavy defeats by houthis lately in Yemen and souther Saudia.

They want muslims to die for them and fight houthis instead of them.
