Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

#BREAKING From the lofty peaks of the Sabeeha Mountains, the western gateway to South Arabia, bearing witness to the flag of the South raised high. From the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the west to Mahra in the east, the Southern Forces, the Southern Resistance, and the tribes of the South raise the flag of the South atop the highest summits, affirming the presence of the South, its land, and its identity.

The Houthis are taking significiant loss of men. Sooner or later Insha-allah they will give in.. Something will eventually give.

This meatgrinder has gone on for 12 years and it is high time that something has to give it has reached a mature year. This is a fruit that has matured. With all fronts opening soon upon the houthis there is nothing but death here for them
How long did the war In Vietnam last? And how many casualties did the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong take?

And the Viet Minh before that?

Same cheerleaders who claimed Myanmar bamar ethnic central government would fall quickly after displacing rohingya. If wishing for someone's defeat and achieving it was only that easy..

It lasted 20 years and the casuality was around 850k which is realistic. Hahah not the amount of number the US releases to not invoke public anger but aside from the jokes. The houthi casuality since the beginning of the war is around 300k at this point. Something gotta give eventually if the pressure is kept on them.

We have seen how things have gone in Afghanistan and Syria something eventually gave with presistent pressure. I believe the Houthis will hold for awhile before any frontline collapses. These wars lasted longer then 12 years each. One last 15 and the other 20 years hence who knows it may last couple more years eventually something will give.

You keep coming with the worst example ever it is like apples and oranges. Whoever said that about Rohinga is crazy. You do realize that the Rohinga are literally like thousands like around 12-20k it is like arresting 100s of people outside of an stadium in New york and then later claim they gonna overthrow a country. It is not feasible! Myanmar is 100m+ and Rohinhga are such a very very tiny minority like a spit in the ocean.

But aside from that Myamnar is basically destroyed country from the inside out all that subject is moot now

You must have forgotten, People here were cheerleading that the karen militia, kachins, shan states etc were marching to the capital yet they never could.

Taking some positions in your own ethnic homeground is one thing, marching into enemy bamar territory is something else completely

I may have misunderstood your question. You are suggesting that some people claimed the Myanmmar gov´t will fall in this civil war correct?

Yes there was an uprising around 3 yrs ago and a lot of fighting, many army posts were over run. But being over run in hostile territory is one thing but losing land in ethnic majority bamar territory is another.

Anyways i am just saying that things rarely if ever work in these conflicts. which is why assads quick fall to HTS or how quickly ISIS captured mosul are special situations that are normally not replicated.

Assad fought for 15 years he is excused. So is the ANA they fought for 20 years in Afghanistan. This Myanmmar war is only 5 years old now which means it is relatively young for modern warfare average length is 15-20 years. The same goes to the Ukraine it is relatively young. We have to give it few more years so the war can reach senior wars before we can know who is gonna win. Modern warfares are marathon not a sprint. Heck Israel and Hamas were fighting 2 straight years in a small enclave area smaller then one district in New york.

Ukraine war is 4 years old, Myannmar 5 years old. Yemen war is still not mature and has ways to go at just 12 years old.

The air strikes are painful, drain the Houthis and destroy their capabilities, but the decision in the end is made by the forces on the ground

The hardcore elements in the leadership must be cleansed as sustained bombing establishes deterrence.
