Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

man it’s almost funny people made fun of Irans air defenses but a country like Saudi Arabia spends about 10 times more than iran isn’t able to defend itself it’s honestly getting to me because what do they spend their money on
arab countries that are ruled by kings/Sheikhs tend to have not that much competent militarties there is a valid reason for that as soon as they raise one the officers in it get power hungry do a coup either kill the ruling family or exile them and it pretty much becoms a military run state Libya and Iraq are not so far off examples in that regard only outlier is Jordan which manage to have a somewhat competent military without having a coup only big crises that country had to face was when PLO tried to seize the country for themselves during Black September

The Coalition: The occupied capital Sana'a and the governorates of Sa'dah and Amran are the sources of Houthi missile threats. #AlArabiya_Breaking

The Coalition: We are continuing to neutralize the threat of ballistic and surface-to-surface missiles and destroy their sources. #AlArabiya_Breaking

The liberation of the second largest city in Yemen (Taiz) is inevitable and getting closer

Taiz is heavily contested only the northren approaches are under firm Houthi Control

Keep in mind seizing the flatlands open desert areas of Yemen is Easy the harder part is consolidating those gains and hold it STC is a recent example captured huge swathes of territory but got yeeted out once and orgainzed combind air and ground attack happend against their forces
Yemeni forces have now advanced to Mokha either the houthi hold it and rack up significant men and equipment in casualties or retreat to the north

to be fair I think many Arab and Muslim nations have issues with their militaries they all fear coups from within so they tend to fund different forces more for their utter loyalty to the “leader” at the time and usually those forces aren’t funded to deal with outside forces but descent from within that’s like 90 percent of them(my own percentage but probably close)

Images show a drone intercepted by Yemeni army forces in the Raghwān area north of Mārib Governorate, launched by the Iran-backed Houthi group.

Visual inspection results and analyses of similar models conducted by experts from the "Defense Line" platform indicate that the drone's components and structural characteristics match the Iranian "Sayyad" drone, in Persian (پهپاد صیاد), which the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps transferred to the Houthi group, which has been operating it since early 2019 under the name "Sammad" with multiple attack and reconnaissance generations. The group claimed it was "locally manufactured."

It is likely a reconnaissance model of the "Sammad-1" type, which is the basic model documented with the IRGC Navy and in previous Houthi uses and interceptions.

In recent times, the Houthi group has intensified the use of these munitions in reconnaissance operations inside Yemen, in areas near confrontation lines, and also in Red Sea coastal regions. The "Defense Line" team has observed operations and interceptions of this aircraft during the recent Houthi escalation.

Yemeni governement forces are now on a decent run but if they get too greedy capturing once again capturing huge swathes of territory aka STC style will strecth their forces thin all across the front and houthis can basically tear it into pieces

Firstly it makes sense to make alliances.
It's hard to know for sure what the future holds.
I always hope to be pleasantly surprised, but have also become so depressingly disillusioned by some Arab Government’s that I continue to expect the worst. Mocking Pakistanis and Turkey for failure of regional powers on Gaza is ridiculous. Do you expect PAF to fight its way thru the puppet states militarily and neutralise them first just to reach Gaza?

After carrying out precise reconnaissance missions, the flying units of the Second and Third Divisions - Homeland Shield Forces launched qualitative strikes targeting sites and fortifications of the Houthi militia in Al-Jawf Governorate, as part of the "Yemen Dawn" operations.

Saudis can afford to continually send drones and Air power to monitor and harass Houthis 24/7. A military blunder by Houthi military planners.

No, they can not. Saudis can not afford sustained hostilities for a few months at this tempo. They have far too much to lose & the internal dynamics are equally as dangerous for MBS. The Saudis need a fairly quick victory over Houthis or at least suppression of Houthi offensive capability.

Honestly not really wowed on these strikes I actually do believe this is real some of the other strikes being shown where massive hits are being done back to back with fuzzy quality is off to me but you would think the Saudis would supply more drones capable of doing precision strikes with large payloads
