This conflict could drag on for years, with no decisive outcome. The sooner Saudi Arabia finds a diplomatic way to end it, the better. Houthis have demonstrated their ability to inflict significant economic and strategic damage, and a prolonged war of attrition could impose costs that Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region simply cannot afford.

The precedent that would be set by giving into blackmail will be far more detrimental to the region.

Guerrillas often wear coarse cloth and hemp garments, looking indistinguishable from ordinary civilians; simply by their attire, it is impossible to tell who the commanders are and who the fighters are. Deeply rooted in the countryside and completely integrated with the villagers, even when in a village, it is very difficult to identify a true soldier from among the common villagers.

No one is saying its an easy task, it's to be determined how hard it really can be.
