Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called for an emergency parliamentary session to approve any Saudi defense requests should he receive one from Riyadh.

Sisi added, "We do not want to fight or attack anyone; we will only defend Saudi Arabia."

Sisi's remarks come after his Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Aty, confirmed in televised statements that Egypt is ready to fulfill any request from Saudi Arabia amidst attacks on civilian targets in the Kingdom by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias in Yemen.
