Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

If this happened 20 years ago, US would have launched another "Desert Storm" long time ago, but now, US is not enjoying that uncontested power anymore, it's long lost its ability to wage wars overseas, the world becomes a better place.

US now is struggling to cope China, everything else is secondary. and in the end it will lose this struggle.

Btw, has anyone seen the YouTube footage of houthis attack what looks like a warship ?

I love this guy so much his voice and the way he shouts and speaks with aggression

I think they use clips with voice over and that was a SINKEX exercise

This was expected.

Interceptors are a lot more expensive than suicide drones and houthis missiles.

A cost effective action is this, attack the source.
Age old strategy, offense is best form of defense.

Let's be more specific here:

"JUST IN: The U.S. targeted and destroyed four Iranian made ballistic missiles used by the Houthi's in Yemen today, according to a U.S. official. These were being prepared to target Zionist affiliated or bound ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, the official said."

UPDATE: Ship hit by Yemen in Gulf of Aden revealed to be US-owned

Ansarallah promised to strike US-owned ships in response to the US' aggression against Yemen in recent days

Reports of further USA-UK airstrikes on Yemen

Looks like USA is being entangled in another conflict in the region, they can't stay away

how it make difference after we saw USA performance in Afghanistan ?
The answer was in the same post but you overlooked it.

1. Toppled Taliban regime in 2001.
2. Defeated Al-Qaeda Network in the region. Some of the most seasoned terrorists were captured and eliminated to this end.
3. Convinced Taliban to not support Al-Qaeda Network in Doha Accords. Taliban did not come back to power by force but with Doha Accords.

The US have settled its most pressing issue in Afghanistan. American leaders can say that WE have avenged 9/11.

What else the US is supposed to do? Exterminate Afghanistan? The US can do it:

But this wasn’t the objective.

The USN is a much more capable force than Saudi forces. I am not sure why this statement is in question. The USN ships have demonstrated the capability to intercept virtually anything thrown at them by the Houthi such as drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The USN have also demonstrated the capability to detect and eliminate ballistic missiles deep inside Yemen while they were being prepared for launch by the Houthi. The Houthi are unable to counter the USN assets in the air and sea.

But the ongoing operation seems to be limited in scale. The US has not declared war on the Houthi and/or has not decided to topple the Houthi regime. It remains to be seen what the US is willing to do about the Houthi on a broader level. No conflict is settled overnight.

Nevertheless, my contention is that the Houthi are picking unnecessary fights, and this might not end well for them. The US has defeated numerous entities before.

Taliban could find refuge in neighboring countries. Do the Houthi have the same luxury?
