Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

The answer was in the same post but you overlooked it.

1. Toppled Taliban regime in 2001.
2. Defeated Al-Qaeda Network in the region. Some of the most seasoned terrorists were captured and eliminated to this end.
3. Convinced Taliban to not support Al-Qaeda Network in Doha Accords. Taliban did not come back to power by force but with Doha Accords.

The US have settled its most pressing issue in Afghanistan. American leaders can say that WE have avenged 9/11.

What else the US is supposed to do? Exterminate Afghanistan? The US can do it:

But this wasn’t the objective.

---

The USN is a much more capable force than Saudi forces. I am not sure why this statement is in question. The USN ships have demonstrated the capability to intercept virtually anything thrown at them by the Houthi such as drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The USN have also demonstrated the capability to detect and eliminate ballistic missiles deep inside Yemen while they were being prepared for launch by the Houthi. The Houthi are unable to counter the USN assets in the air and sea.

But the ongoing operation seems to be limited in scale. The US has not declared war on the Houthi and/or has not decided to topple the Houthi regime. It remains to be seen what the US is willing to do about the Houthi on a broader level. No conflict is settled overnight.

Nevertheless, my contention is that the Houthi are picking unnecessary fights, and this might not end well for them. The US has defeated numerous entities before.

Taliban could find refuge in neighboring countries. Do the Houthi have the same luxury?

I’m not weird on propaganda, and all technical things you are right, don’t forget I’m Palestinian-American so yeah I don’t agree with attacks on towers which many civilians died including Muslims. Technically brought down the Taliban only to bring back a more resurgent Taliban stronger than before Taliban came back to power by force and bribing officials to switch sides or lay down arms. Two Al Qaeda wasn’t destroyed it was badly injured but it adapted and spilt of into smaller groups and part of larger groups you can’t destroy Al qaeda or Taliban just by military means unless you try to help social and economic needs of countries where they formed, America may support Israel but even they know and are telling the Israelis you act stupid after this war like you did before you will just get another October 7 in the future. I think people here sometimes believe fighting will only solve problems honestly death and destruction is the only thing it causes, going to leave it at that.

If US can not even defeat Taliban, Hezbollah, Houthi, Assad etc they should just stop focusing on Iran altogether let alone China lol.

I read that a INS ship itself was hit. Any truth to this? Hopefully not true.

Biden admits US strikes against Yemen are not working, but will continue anyway

makes zero difference

militaries have adapted to air power and Afghanistan proved it

and now Hamas and Houthis are proving it again

at some point you need REAL men on the ground and Western nations have a big identity crisis going on and have no REAL men like Russia and Iran left

@ThunderCat regarding your post
Palestinians are too unappreciative of Pakistan's previous support and even betrayed Arab countries that supported them.

No thanks.

I will happily call Israel an ally if it's still serious in destroying Iran's potential nuclear capabilities.

Our compassion for someone is not dictated by whether they can return the favor. As I mentioned elsewhere, only a strong, self-confident person can help others in need. Selfishness in the face of injustice is the hallmark of an insecure weakling.

We support Palestinians because it is the right thing to do. We oppose Israel because it is a flag bearer of lingering European colonialism.

Thousands of Yemenis rally in support of Gaza in Houthi-held areas

Tensions have escalated in Red Sea amid Houthi attacks on commercial ships suspected of having links with Israel

Ahmed Asmad 19.01.2024 - Update : 19.01.2024

SANAA, Yemen

Thousands of Yemeni people participated in mass rallies on Friday in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, who have been facing an Israeli onslaught for over 100 days.

The rallies were called by the Houthi group in several cities and areas under its control, under the theme "Firm in standing with Palestine.. US mother of terrorism."

In Sanaa's rally, Yemeni demonstrators chanted against the US-UK raids on Yemen and against "Israeli genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza".

Further rallies were reported in Hodeidah, western Yemen, in Hajjah and Saada provinces of northwestern Yemen, in southwestern Taiz province, and in Al-Bayda province of central Yemen, according to the Houthi-run Al-Masirah channel.

Tensions have escalated in the Red Sea amid Houthi attacks on commercial ships suspected of having links with Israel.

The Houthis say their attacks aim to pressure Israel to halt its deadly onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed at least 24,762 people and injured 62,108 others since an Oct. 7 cross-border offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas.

The US and UK launched airstrikes as of Jan. 11 against Houthi targets in Yemen in retaliation for the Houthi attacks, which have created fears of a new bout of inflation and supply chain disruption.

The Red Sea is one of the world's most frequently used sea routes for oil and fuel shipments.

Remarkable sentences of Houthi leader

We will share our bread with our Palestinian brothers and sisters (Nasrallah leader of Lebanese Hezbollah mentioned it with tearful eyes praising Houthi leader)

To our brothers in Qassam and warriors in Gaza: either we will win together or we will die together

Sunni brothers along with Shias of Bahrain should overthrow the oppressive regime and support Palestine and stop relationship with Zionists
