The new iCaur brand will enter Russian market in 2026
The new Chinese iCaur brand will debut on the Russian market in 2026. The brand specializes in the development and production of electric and hybrid cars.

It is currently unknown which cars the brand's line-up will feature. It is assumed to be similar to the Chery iCar sub–brand, the only model of which is 03 crossover, launched in 2024 and shipped to Russia under the parallel import scheme.

GOST for taxi service cars has been proposed to be introduced in Russia
Irina Zaripova, Chairman of the Public Council for Taxi Development, proposed adopting a state standard for automakers of cars intended for passenger transportation.

The main requirements proposed by Ms. Zaripova as a standard are the cost of a car in the range of 1-1.5 million rubles, a factory warranty of at least 3 years and the following technical characteristics: powertrain capacity of 100-150 HP, front-wheel drive, automatic gear box, fuel consumption of 5-7 liters per 100 km and the ability to operate without major repair of at least 300 thousand km.

Letters with relevant proposals were sent to Anton Alikhanov, the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the State Duma, and Valentina Matvienko, the Chairman of the Federation Council.

AvtoVAZ presented the new LADA AZIMUT at the SPIEF
As part of the 28th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, AVTOVAZ JSC held the world premiere of the new LADA AZIMUT crossover, created on its own Russian Vesta platform.

Almost 1,000 genuine components and parts (996 new and improved components) were created for LADA AZIMUT, including body panels, lighting and interior elements, as well as a new rear suspension.

The updated LADA NIVA Travel has been presented at the SPIEF
The presentation of the new LADA NIVA Travel took place at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The model features improved technical characteristics, such as 1.8–liter 8-valve engine apacity of 90 HP and a transmission adapted to it. The suspension received a new stabilizer bar, which improves handling and smoothness. Ventilated brake disks and non-adjustable bearings in the front hubs improved the car safety and chassis durability.

NIVA Travel has passed a full test cycle: bench tests, field inspections and road tests in various climatic conditions.

The start of serial production of the model is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.

AvtoVAZ will reduce its production plan for 2025
AvtoVAZ will reduce its production plan for 2025, according to the First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov for RBC.

Mr. Manturov explained the decrease in the production plan by objective reasons independent of the automaker, in particular, favorable deposit rates, due to which customers prefer to postpone the purchase of a car.

Recall that earlier it was reported about AvtoVAZ's plans to reduce the production plan for the current year to 400 thousand cars (by 20%).
